this offer/request/favor is for all Boston-area tapers,
The Strokes are playing on 05/15/03 @ The Orpheum
I was going to go and tape them that night but my fiancee has an art exhibit opening that night (she only has one piece up, it's for her senior art studio class). I REALLY REALLY REALLY wanted to tape this gig and I'm asking, or rather begging, someone to tape it. If you're a fan then this should be golden. Here's the scoop:
I'll buy YOUR ticket (not anyone else's, just the taper's)
I'll pay for gas (depending on where you live) or subway passes
I'll even buy you the media of choice (MD, DAT, ANA, VHS, MiniDV) if you need one
all I ask is that you tape the gig. if you don't want the master i'll take that too, but beggars can't be choosers ;) Even though the band is anti-taping, i've managed to tape their shows before. It's a simple pat down. Just crotch it or however you do it and you're good to go.

Did you post over at Sharingthegroove.org? I'm pretty sure this show will be taped. You might want to ask over there and see if someone is planning on doing it before you lay out all sorts of money to pay for someone to do it....
