Hey guys,

Can someone help me out.

I've contacted my branch HIGH MAINTENANCE 4 times. After the first time he gave me his list of discs he wants from me. I then told him one of the shows was mp3 sourced and asked him if he wanted a different show instead.

He wrote back saying send me another show. I then wrote him back asking what show he wanted and have not heard from him since. I emailed him another time and still haven't hear anything.

Its now been a few weeks and I'd let to get these shows.

It seems to me that these trees are not going that smooth lately. I still haven't heard anything about the 6-1-02 tree. The 8/17/02 tree is messed up too some branches and leaves got there discs already and my branch hasn't even received the discs yet.

There definatly seems to be a communication breakdown somewhere.

Can someone please help me.

Jason

Hey Man,
I had the same problem, so I contacted someone else (re: 08/17/02 DLR Tree). I should have this show by this weekend. I'd be happy to burn it for you. Shoot me an e-mail with your info. :thumb:

Jas - I'll take care of you for the 6-1-02 tree. Also, I agree with you 100% on the tree situation lately. Any suggestions on how to correct it ? :thumb:

A suggestion for making the tree's go a little bit smoother is to maybe have the same branch's for all tree's.

I mean pretty much all the same people are doing these tree's. Maybe we should create some sort of heirarchy among traders. We all know who are the experts and keep the tree's and other stuff going around here.

What does everyone else think?

Here's my thought. When I got started, being a branch was a great way to build a collection. Now, it's kinda hard to find time to burn high quantities of CDs. I do large trades when I can, but it's not everytime. I suspect some others are the same way. I'd also hate to prevent some of our newer traders from the opportunity to build their collection. Personally, I think it's most fair as it is, but perhaps when trees go awry (sounds like a VHS tape sold on TV, like girls gone wild ;) ), maybe those creating the tree should personally take that into account, unless there was a valid reason for the delay. Stuff does happen. And it would appear there's always someone to step up to the plate and help out. Always. Just MHO :thumb:

I agree with what your saying yerdog. I would love to be a branch all the time but I'm very busy and usually take a few extra days when burning discs for people. Also sometimes I ahve problems with my burner not working.

I can understand having some delays but no communication at all is just wrong. If you are having problems just let people know, thats all I ask for.

I guess i'm just a little ticked off right now that i'm waiting on 3 trees and have only heard from one of them.

6-1-02 nothing
6-25-02 nothing
8-17-02 branch has yet to get discs.

I think the person starting the tree's have to make sure that all the branch's get the discs in a timely manner.

Maybe set a timeline.
Tree signup 2 weeks
Delivery to branchs 1 or 2 weeks
Branches to leaves 2 weeks.

I don't know maybe i'm jsut fishing for ideas

A timeline sounds reasonable enough, but how do you enforce it ? Don't let them be a branch again ? Do we have each leaf contact the seed at the end of the tree and provide feedback ? Believe me, I understand what you're talking about. I just don't know of a reasonable solution. ;)

Hey Guys,
I've been reading your posts regarding the tree situation. I am fairly new here and still learning the ropes. I think Yerfdog is right in the sense that there are a lot of great people here that are willing to step up and help out when something fails. My two cents worth anyway. ;)

Perhaps you're right, Jas. What does everyone think about a required turnaround time for branches to be setup by the seed ?

I think we need some better structure but I don't think this should be like school.

We need to come to some middle ground and figure something out.

Or maybe this is just a little mistep and things will get back to normal soon.

Once again, I don't know.
