So far I got everything tree'd accept the 8-17-02 vcd. My branch is in Australia so I'm not sure how long it takes to recieve at his end. I'm Canadaian & have seen the mail take 2-3 weeks sometimes. For example, Yerfdog & I traded & a week later I was a branch & he was a leaf, he mailed my cds almost 10 days apart & I recieved both packages the same day ???? So some problems may be a result of region( Canada, Australia, etc) & also the never consistant mail system. :D

Well I'm not complaining about how long it takes.

I'm upset with not even getting an email from the people. I understand if someone has more important things to take care of. I mean i'm usually on the slow end when I trade but at least I communicate and email the person I'm trading with.

My beef regarding these tree's is that I've contacted my branch's many times and get no resposne.

My branch on the 8/17/02 tree has contacted me several times and kept me updated on his progress. I have no problem waiting months if need be as long as there is communication.

The other 2 tree's 6/1/02 and 6/25/02 has made no contact so I have no clue what's going on.

Sorry Jason,

I wasn't commenting on you I was just chucking some proposed "rules of thumb" out for the fellas.

You are right - if possible an email at the very least should be sent. The old "sh!t or get off the pot" rule.

If I had the shows myself I'd send them to ya :)

Take Care!
Bill

Maybe we shouldn't tree up a show until the root HAS the discs. I've signed up for most of the trees here, but some have taken so long I don't know what's what or what I'm signed up for or what I'm gettin' anymore.

I know the trees I've ran went smooth, but I had the discs. Maybe the trees are too big. Maybe we should have two trees for the same show to make it quicker or have a master root trade it to two lower roots and then divide the branches between two roots. That would probably spread out the leafs so maybe branches would only have to deal with 2-3 trades. That might work. Hell, when I did the 95 Balance PPV VCD tree I was a branch. I didn't have time to mess with it so I just gave it away to the 5 guys without trading. That one went smooth!LOL

when I used to do tree's....I had to baby sit the branches all the way through with their trades....or there wouldn't be a second tree that they would be on...and lord knows I did a pile of them....tree's are a bitch....people have their reasons for not holding up on their end...on the 6/01 tree...I contacted my leafs and only 1 guy got back to me...hey...you either want it or you dont!!! :thumb:

Fletch points out one method of ensuring it gets done, and I don't disagree. If you seed the tree, it is somewhat your responsibility, as you will typically set the tree structure as well - your name is on it.

The method I will use is to utilize as many newbies as possible as branches, but only the ones with whom I've traded, or that I've heard through trusted sources are good, expedient traders - and it's not hard to determine those folks. You've got to go with what/who you know. The important thing to make everyone happy is to make the tree go down fast, correctly, and give as many newbies a chance to increase their collections. Anymore, I will only ask to be a leaf, unless I have more than enough free time on my hands, which doesn't happen very often. Just MHO :thumb:

...another good idea I just saw posted here is what dave miles and I did for all the reunion shows.....

....send the branches the discs first.....then give out the leafs....and then just monitor the branches....never go bigger then 5 branches....other tree's of the same show can be offered later on from someone else...once a tree has become too large...it takes serious monitoring of the branches to insure all leafs get what they want...

AND THAT MEANS SHOW WITH NO GAPS!!!!!

I hated hearing back from this leaf or that leaf asking if there are gaps in the reunion discs.....because...THERE ISN'T!!! if you can't do disc at once...DON'T BE A BRANCH!! bottom line!! because you ruin it for everyone you make copies for... :thumb: :thumb:

If anyone needs the 6-01 please contact me. I'd be glad to trade it.

I think some good suggestions came out of this thread. I'm going to move this one over to the archive, and perhaps we can utilize some of these thoughts in future trees. :thumb:
