| Newbie question here. :o The software for burning discs that came on my computer is called "Record Now" Version 3.1. I don't see anywhere in the configuration settings etc that makes it to where you can record DAO. What programs do you all use and how much do they cost? Just setting up for my first ever burn.... :thumb: Later Alan |

| On my computer right now is Roxio ez-cd Creator 6 Platinum. This software will do everything including DVDs. Very easy to use and very reliable. Cost about $ 100 here in Canada. :thumb: |

| I used to prefer EZ CD Creator, but honestly, I use Nero now. I've had far fewer problems with it and it will do anything the other programs will. Although, I think EZ CD Creator is a bitmore user friendly where as Nero is a bit more technical in my opinion. Depends on how comfortable you feel with getting down and dirty with ALL the options. |

Given that, I'll have to change my answer to 3 different packages I use. I use Nero to burn any disc. I use EAC to handle audio disc images, and if its a data disc image, I use CDRWIN for CUE files with binary/data tracks. (although I'm surprised EAC doesn't do data tracks as well, correct me if I'm wrong though and I've overlooked it or something) |

For burning audio boots, I use EAC and Musicmatch. Musicmatch is a great free burner and does DAO without any headaches, it just tries to take over your system at times, gotta keep it hemmed up. You may be better off with EAC and another burning software really, MM is just the one I happen to use. For VCD and data discs (direct copies) I have an "upgraded" copy of clonecd.....Microsoft can't fool me :sssh: |

| I normally use Clone CD, EAC or Nero, depending on what mood I'm in. |

Secure EAC for extracting audio discs and CDRWin for burning them.
CDRWin for copying VideoCDs.
Easy CD Creator for copying or creating data CD-R's.
Veritas "RecordNow" for copying DVD's. |

| I use Sony Extreme; it came with my burner. It burns data, music, and my vcd's. I always save to hd and burn from there and I'd say it's about a 99% success rate; if not closer to 100%. I like it great! It's easy too. |

I can't get enough of EAC. It has a WAV editor which has done everything I've every needed. It burns audio disc beautifully. It is a MUST for extraction. It is freeware. I love EAC.
When you are talking about data I use Nero. |
