Noticed the sign-up for the Atomic Punks video tree, and that got me wondering.....
Is there anyone out there who would be willing to transfer an Atomic Punks show I videotaped to DVD-R for a subsequent trade tree? This was the very last show Bart Walsh did as a member of the Atomic Punks before he left to hook up with David Lee Roth. It was taped at the Whisky A Go-Go in '99. I used a Sony 8mm and videotaped it from the second level of the club, and I don't believe there were any obstructions. I didn't have a tripod, but I kept as perfectly still as possible. It turned out pretty good, and I haven't had any complaints about it. I had both Ralph's and the Whisky's permission to record this show.
If I send it out, I'd most likely be sending out a 1st generation copy on the highest quality VHS tape I could find. In the years I've had this show, I have only made copies for about 4 or 5 people, Ralph included, not a whole lot when you think about it. I'm sure you'd understand if I didn't want to send out the original 8mm tape.
I taped the Punks at various gigs during this time while home on vacation from Japan, and this was by far the best show in terms of performance and audio. I did other shows in Fullerton, Pasadena, and San Diego, but this is the absolute best hands down. The PA at the other clubs pretty much sucked, but the Whisky's was dead-on. A few of the songs I can remember from that night were "(Oh!) Pretty Woman", "Little Guitars", "Unchained", and "Little Dreamer".
If anyone is interested and wants to take on this task, please let me know at os2bulldog@hotmail.com. Thanks! :thumb: |
