Hello all. What I've got here is a product from guitard - the info is below. I'd like to get this tree done before Christmas, so signup will be done Next Sunday morning.

In addition to your username, email addy, and geographic location, I'd like to know if you're willing to make this a freebie tree - I am willing to make copies for the branches free of charge, including postage. Let me know if you are capable of the same. If you can't - you can't. No big deal. It's just that time of year.

Special thanks to Randy for seeding this one out :thumb: :thumb: :thumb:

The only connection to Van Halen that this has is that both Nuno and Paul pay an indirect tribute to Eddie during the show (no need to explain how - you'll figure it out when you watch the DVD). And - Gary Cherone sings on some of the songs.

Suffice it to say - the quality is as close to official DVD as it gets, and the concert smokes.

The full three hour version is going to be released officially in Japan. No word on a US release, however, this is only half of the show anyway.

29 August 2003
Akasaka Blitz (Hard Rock Cafe) Tokyo, Japan
Length: 90 minutes
Source: S VHS direct from WOWOW digital cable
Silver Stallion DVD Productions

setlist:
1. intro
2. Gettin' Betta (by Pat Travers)
3. Down To Mexico
4. Scarified
5. To Be With You
6. Tidal
7. When The Levee Breaks
8. Gravity
9. Cupid's Dead
10. Midnight Express
11. More Than Words
12. Classical Gas
13. Firth Of Fifth
14. Mechanical Bride
15. Los Endos Medley
16. Rock And Roll (Led Zep)

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Here is the write up for the show at the WOWOW website:

Universal Music and UDO Artists, in conjunction with Hard Rock Café’s 20th anniversary in Japan, present Guitar Wars. This will be a unique event
involving 'super guitarists' from different genres and backgrounds. Confirmed artists so far are Steve Hackett, John Paul Jones, Paul Gilbert
and Nuno Bettencourt.

John Paul Jones needs little introduction after being part of one of the greatest rhythm sections of all time with the legendary Led Zeppelin. A
truely amazing bass player, session musician and artist in his own right.

Paul Gilbert of Mr. Big has established himself as a popular solo artist, not only as a super guitar player but also as a pop songwriter. But, as if
to let go of his virtuosic needs, he also plays guitar in his heavy metal unit, Racer X.

Nuno Bettencourt was hailed as the next guitar genius after Eddie Van Halen when he emerged with Boston outfit Extreme. Since turning solo, he has
released 4 albums under monikers: such as Nuno, Mourning Widows and Population 1.

Completing the lineup are Pat Mastelotto from King Crimson on drums, Roger King from the Steve Hackett Band on keyboards and Mike Szuter from The
Szuters on bass. A "super group" in the true sense!

Expect an evening of excitement and surprises? Who knows what what may be brought out of vaults filled with great songs. Genesis, Led Zeppelin, Mr. Big or Extreme classics? Interesting rare covers, maybe. And always watch out for the guitar battles!!

The concerts will only happen once each in Tokyo and Osaka. Don’t miss this experience of a lifetime.

Awesome, these guys rip it up - can't wait to see this. I'm still stuck in Leaf-ville for another month or so, but will gladly do a 2:1 DVD-R trade.
