I usually do not like posting about other Yahoo mailing lists on other web sites but I think this is something that might interest all of you……..collecting video / audio of bands has been one of my favorite things for the past 14 years…..in that time frame I have obtained quite a bit of stuff…….it's because of generous people that I was able to get started collecting……well now I am wanting to give a little back……

I have a Yahoo group for trading rock / metal VCD's…….what I have decided to do is offer up some VCD's to tree out for people who might not have a lot to trade just yet or for people to obtain copies of things that they could not get their hands on……

Below is my list of VCD's that I am offering up for trees…..the deal is this…..I posted my list out to my Yahoo group and explained that while I do not have the free time to trade these titles to everyone that I would offer a way for people to get them without much involvement from me……what I am doing is providing the title to whoever signs up for it and they are responsible for putting the tree together……if you are interested in signing up you can subscribe to my yahoo group at rockmetalvcdtraders-subscribe@yahoogroups.com

The ONLY reason you have to be a member of the group to participate is so we can all keep track of what's going on with all the different trees

Thanks,
Cale

Cale, thanks for offering to seed trees. I know we've discussed VCD trees in the past here on the boards, but they've never come into fruition (I think it's time to start one! :D ) .

BTW, I'm going to move this to the Trees forum for better exposure.

Sorry to appear ignorant - but is a VCD the same as a DVD? I run a Macintosh G4 - it plays DVDs.....
Just wondering!

Just wondering! No. A VCD is simply a CD-R with a video file on it; DVD is a different (and much better) technology. Virtually everyone with a computer (and a CD burner) can burn and view VCDs, which makes for easy distribution.

Hey Scott Roberts, Thanks for the VCD tip and the VCDHelp.com link. I've been wondering if I would be able to participate in a VCD tree, and with this info I will be able to. The link is simply a gold mine of information. I hope to sift through it soon and I hope to soon be trading VCD's also. BTW, please sign me up for this tree when it gets going. :D

well considering cale and I are the ones who started the vcd thing...why don't I offer to this forum some of the vcd's we have...since cale wants you to join his mailing list....and get the numbers up....

I can help out here....

I have more titles then cale does in the vcd department...and better stuff to boot on VH and DLR....

any ideas on what you'd like for the 1st vcd tree?

LMK...

check out my trade list for the vcd's :thumb: http://www.vhvault.com/~fletch_zone
