Good show, DAT sounds allright so far.. I was sitting behind & in front of (I was surrounded by drunks)some really inconsiderate drunken loudmouth SOBs that really distracted from my enjoyment of my 50TH VAN HALEN CONCERT you can hear them somewhat in the recording but not too bad...
I don't understand why you'd pay 100 bux for a concert ticket then get all drunked up & scream & yell & take off & come back & take off & come back & ruin the show for others that paid 100 bux each for tix that actually want to ENJOY the show!!
Anyway nothing reallly out of the ordinary at the show, someone did throw up a big inflatable penis w/balls & Sammy said something like " I've got one just like that" then he noticed the the teeth drawn on it & said his doesn't have teeth!!
The one video screen (on eddies side) had troubles all night, hopefully noone was tryong to videotape it!!
Anyway I'll share the CDs as soon as I can, I have a THREE VAN HALEN CONCERT WEEKEND this weekend so I'll be pretty busy (but its the kind of busy I have waited 9 years for!)The last time I saw them 3 nights in a row was April 14th 15th & 16th 1995. I am so happy right now...you just don't know. 7 concerts in 11 days. Its what I live for;) |

...Oh yeah, I forgot-but thanx to the magic of DAT, I just remembered-EVH started to play Aint Talkin Bout Love coming out of his solo, not sure if he did it on purpose or if he just forgot about Dreams or what, but Sammy was pointing at him & laughing!! Then after Dreams, Sammy said something about now being the time for ATBL...
BTW the tape sounds FAAAAAAR better than I was expecting, it sounded crappy to my ears while I was there & I thought it was gonna be all crowd noise, but its pretty good...Except for the drunk guy behind me (that looked like he should be a bank manager somewhere) that was screaming like a 12 year old girl being chased by a 12 year old boy with a dead frog!! |

So, is it true that Eddie broke out a black & white guitar for a couple of songs at this show? :sssh: OH yeeeeaaaahhh... freaked at first, then I realized it wasn't THE black & white one from years ago...I have noticed that EVH is using different guitars at different points in the set from show to show...which was never the case on previous tours...That I recall...
Oh yeah, what tattoo does Eddie have on his left arm? I noticed one on each arm last night. I know he has the same one on his right arm that I do on my left, except I got mine 4 years b4 he got his & mine does not say wolfgang. I couldn't make out what it was on his left but it was roughly the same size as the one on his right... |

I don't recall it being anything overly special, not bad but OK, but it was so long ago its hard to say for sure & I don't think that I ever transfered it to disc...I have a lot of DATs to put to disc & when I am not busy, I am lazy!!!! |

Hey Steecoe,
Could you also count me in too? When you are ready. I was at the show also, great show. I loved when Sammy got the crowd doing O-H-I-O. The Buckeye crowd went nuts. I look forward to your posting of this show being available.
Thanks,John |
