| Just got home from the show. I will admit I was a bit nervous after hearing all the concerns about Eddie's at times "sloppy" playing.I came away very satisfied. While the crown arrived very late (not even half full for Silvertide)The show was pretty much a sell out, I did see a few nose bleed seats available. The set list was the same as opening night in Greensboro with the exception that Wolfie was there for the solo. That was very cool. I thought Eddie's playing was very solid. Like others have mentioned on previous dates the band seems to be getting along very well. A lot of good inter interaction between the guys. While I did not have the 5 star package I heard the band was delayed by a storm and did not make it in time to play a soundcheck. Sammy even referenced the delays during the show. The 5 star guy I talked with said many were very disappointed. Overall I thought the show was great, Eddie's playing was solid and the guys seems to enjoy everything. Finally, Eddie did spend a lot of time thanking the audience. He must have said 5 or 6 times how happy he was and thankful for all the fans sticking with VH. I was sad to see them only spend 1 night in D.C. Rock on VH.....Rock on! |

>about Eddie's at times "sloppy" playing.
Was at the show, and noticed this occasionally. I play guitar and it appeared at times that he did not remember what to play and was playing in the wrong key. Ironic that he used to bust Jimmy Page chops for this. Noticed this on the audio for the NJ show too.
Eddie has probably been away for too long and not enough rehearsal time, high or both. I'll bet that near the end of the tour it will be different.
Did anyone tape the Washington show? I really want to hear it as I was there.

| The DC show was one of the first shows I had been able to make since the OU812 tour! It was great to hear the band rocking again. I, too, thought Eddie seemed a bit rusty. Funniest part of the show was these three 16 year olds sitting in front of me rocking out to the tunes and playing air guitar for the whole show. They weren't even born when 1984 or 5150 came out. Good to see VH appreciation moving on to another generation. I am still trying to track down an audio of the 6/25 DC show. Anyone have any luck? Email me at datter1@yahoo.com. I am new at trading but I would like to get started with this show. |
