(I posted the same thing over @VH Forums)

I waited many, many years to see Van Halen tonight - and even tho I was under the weather... I still enjoyed the HELL outta the show. Sammy was dead-on (like noted before) & the band sounds terrific. Ed looked really happy tonight... he couldn't stop smiling. Mike downed a mini bottle of Jack during his solo - and the ENTIRE place sang along w/ Sam as he did "Eagles Fly".... fantastic show. :D )

Another great show...Damn near didn't make it in with the equipment though...walk through metal detectors that weren't there the last time I was there (for DLR in '99), quick thinking & diversion & confusion got me in though...DAT sounds good so far...
EVH played a black & yellow guitar again tonight.
He doesn't seem to be smoking the cigs as much the last couple nights...although he still is
Right as soon as they luanched into ATBL Eddies guitar cable came loose or unplugged or something, his guitar totally dropped out of the PA for a minute...
can't remember too much else that was unique tonight...But I do dig his solo, changing from night to night, still kinda the same stucture but he puts a different spin on it each night...
I just love that they look so happy & are having so much fun. I like the "EDWAAAARD" & "SAMMMEEEEYYY" back & forth thing that EVH & SH have been doing-sammy yells out eddies name & then eddie yells out sammys... |
