Anyone going to the KCMO VH show 7/26? www.kemperarenakc.com shows they're having a block party in lot B starting at 4PM with live music, drinks, food, etc. Sounds like a better option than driving or going to a local bar. Opinions anyone?

Thanks Jeff

For those going, I will be wearing a blue/red Cubs jersey. Me and my gal will likely be at the block party for a while before going in :thumb:

Here's my biased opinion....

First of all, I met Viking and KU and VH forever out at the block party. I was lookin' for you, Doc, but I didn't see you anywhere. The block party was pretty cool, and the beer prices, well....$7.50 for a 24 ounce is not bad at all in my book for a concert.

My gal was in pain, but quite a trooper (she had surgery about a month ago. She had to sit during a few songs, and I took the opportunity as well. We were last row on the floor, and couldn't really see anthing but the three screens anyhow. I had to raise up a time or two, just so I could say I actually saw them. It was cool to see Sammy up on the Meteor? during TOTW

Mike, Al, and Sam were spot on. Sammy hasn't lost a step. His voice is as good now if not better than ever before. Everyone was moving around, and as previously reported, plenty of flying Eddies   :thumb:

I've been an EVH fan since 1980 or 1981, I can't remember which. I won't go into the details - I think the folks here know I am, and have been for a long time. Ed did reasonably well with all the songs - impromtu solos and all. I don't know whether he was drunk or not - I don't really care. That's HIS choice. I have to say I was rather disappointed with Ed. I should have know what I was getting, but I chose to not read previous reviews, setlists, and the like. I just didn't add them to my memory banks, even though I have several DVD boots. I think perhaps the shrink he's been seeing has fucked him up. He said something recently about owning your talent, or whatever (ala Dr. Phil). Well, I think he's just TOO full of himself now. Feast or Famine. I just wish I'd seen him about 10 years ago, in his prime. I hate to say it, but I think he's on a downward spiral.

As far as the sound, Al was soooo loud, you could barely hear Mike, if at all, and even Ed was hard to hear, but no problemo with Sammy. My ears weren't really ringing at all afterwards, at least not anymore than normal sssh

I'm glad that I was finally able to see them.
