I am attending both shows in Worcester, Ma. I have the 5 star package for the Sunday show. I can not wait. Would love to get together with some of the other VH crazees before the show.

There is only one way to rock and I am glad they are back to prove it.

Since worcester is the first place they are playing back to back shows you would think they would have to change up the setlist.

I guess I only have 2 more days to wait and find out. I'll be at both shows.

my bad, i didn't realize they were playing 2 in Philly. I guess tonight will be the night we find out.

From vhlinks:

"Hey, just a quick call from a buddy at this show...I guess it was amazing, again. He's already been to several of the shows and is still excited about it. He was in the golden rings and kept commenting about being 8 feet from the band the whole night. He had a hat signed by Sam, slapped fives with Mike and Sam..and guess who played 316? Fuckin' WOLFIE! He didn't give me any details as his cell was running out of battery, so someone else can elaborate. No setlist details from him either...sorry! He did say that he saw Ed and Val after the show, getting in the same car together...hmmm...Anyway, if I hear more details soon I will fill you in..."

its true wolfie rocked on stage with eddie. and valarie was their, she was sitting right behind the sound techs and walked by me twice she grabbed woflie after he jammed on stage and was so proud of him. She seemed to be rocking out the entire show singing along with most of the songs.

All I can say is what a Fuckin show!!!!!!!!!!1

Pretty good review from the links by brownsoundjunkie:

FUCKIN WHEW! Incredible show. My 7th VH concert and without a doubt the highest energy show I've seen them do. It was an absolute sellout. I looked all around at several points during the show and couldn't see an emtpy seat even in the highest back corners. Everybody sounded great, Wolfie included! The place just about came apart when he walked out. Ed was pretty blown away himself -he had the biggest smile you can imagine. The old tunes were especially stong musically - Somebody Get Me A Doctor -Mikey was awesome on vocals - Unchained, Ain't Talkin Bout Love - all really smoked. Sammy sounded good not great on them to me but overall that guy sang his ass off. 56 fuckin years old this guy, and he sounded really strong on the new tunes particularly.

Ed played great and pretty conventionally on most tunes I thought. His solo had a bunch of new stuff, as others have said about previous shows. He did 316 at the end, which should've clued me in that Wolfie might be coming out. But I didn't get it til Ed kinda laid back and dropped his hands away from the guitar. Then Wolfie makes his way out from the right of Eddie's HUGE stack of amps with the crowd screamin to the rafters. They played 316 down front for a little bit. When they finished, Ed raised Wolfie's hand as he went to the mike and said "This is the mother fuckin future right here man." The place went berzerk!!

Mikey's bass was pounding and his typically stellar background vox were just that. Toward the end of the night he almost seemed to get a little choked up. Maybe someone who was closer can elaborate, but he just seemed so friggin happy. They all did, but with Mikey being in the middle of all that went down for the last 8 years and being tight with Sammy and all, it just seemed like he was thinking, like we all were, that maybe they'd never play live again.

In a show full of impressive performances, Alex's might have been the best. I've never heard him play better. Unreal. Twice during the show Sammy called him the "fuckin human time machine" and he's right. Al plays with the energy of a 20 year-old. His solo was outstanding.

My favs were Up For Breakfast (Frankie-striped guitar sounded awesome!) and Unchained. As someone said about the first Philly show, the setlist is outstanding. It flows really well. They just keep hitting you over the head with incredible tunes. When It's Love is a mellow closer, and probably my least favorite thing about the night. But that's compared to the rest of an amazing show. Truly.

It was VH-loud, but after some of the reviews of the earlier shows, gotta say I expected louder. I tried it with earplugs for a few songs but it made the mix too muddy so I ended up not wearing them very much and my ears aren't ringing at all.

My seat was right beside the soundboard on Ed's side. One guy pretty much ran the whole damn thing. Great video screens. Biggest pre-show regret was getting into town later than I'd hoped and not drinking with Incredible Edible Dude or Waborita. I'm sure you guys had a great time. Hope to catch you next time. I might add more as I remember it. If you're on the fence about seeing VH this tour, jump on over to the 5150 side. You'll be glad you did.

6/19/04 Worcester, MA was my first Van Halen show. I went with my fiance - luckily, she's really into Van Halen. I had a great time. At first, I thought either the sound was way too loud or the acoustics of the Centrum were bad. But the sound seemed to get much better after the first few songs. All of the songs were great - I particularly loved Humans Beings, UnChained, and Dreams. Sammy's solo was great, though I wished Eddie would have added some electric guitars on Eagles Fly. I'm not into the Wolfie thing at all - the kid adds nothing to the show IMHO. Nor am I into guitar/drum/bass solos - Eddie's was the only one that I could stand. For the those who haven't been there, the Centrum is a very small arena - probably 1/2 the size of the Wachovia Center in Philadelphia or Continental Arena in New Jersey. This makes every seat a good seat. However, the negative is that the bathroom lines were long, and the beer lines were outrageous - I didn't even bother getting a beer because every line looked like a 40min wait.
Overall, I'm glad I saw VH. Of the shows I've seen, I'd still say the Rolling Stones are the best concert experience I've ever had, but this was almost as good.

Rob
