Lately we've had a few AOL users who have had difficulties logging in to the VH Trade Forums. I've already talked to a few of you about this; but for those of you who I haven't, here's what I found out:

I've done some research, and apparently AOL handles the distribution and allocation of IP addresses for its users differently than other webbrowsers.

One minute, an AOL user will click "reply" on the forum, and types out a message. When they click "Submit", they have another IP address. As phpBB2 is tracking the user by cookies and IP address, the forum thinks it is someone else - spoofing and doesn't let them post, or cuts the session. This is also the case with logging in as well. This problem is lessened by using a different browser (IE 6, FireFox, Mozilla etc). It is wholly eliminated when not using AOL.

With that said, I would like for all AOL users to try something if you haven't already. While connected to the internet via AOL, open up Internet Explorer outside of AOL and access the VH Trade site. If you need to, try to clear your cookies, or even re-register. Thanks and I appreciate everyone's patience on this matter.

I would also like to thank BIGTOMIE for contacting the AOL tech department and getting this information:
