Taped the Anaheim show last night.
I hadn't heard any shows from this tour since 8/23/04 and they were ok, Eddie seemed a little rough.
That was all different in Anaheim. He was on fire!
His solo spot was about 70% new and improvised, not the same old rehashed stuff we've been hearing for years.
He also had fun with fills and intro on most songs, he's playing better than I've heard in years, and I have a fairly large collection.
Overall, it was a great show and great to see Eddie back in form. |

Chucky did you record it on audio or video?? Let me know and maybe we can work something out...I was at the show also and admit they sounded great and Eddie was on fire but his solo kinda sucked because he was making it up as he went along. It was good to see them back and they look like they are enjoying this. I attended the soundcheck and they did songs there that blew my mind...Ory
My ears are still freakin ringing |

ory,
Glad you enjoyed it. I should have the show transferred to CDR late next week as I will be out of town later this week.
I'm taping san diego tonight. I'd like to tree these two shows out if there is interest.
RE eddie's solo: although my roots are in classic rock, I drifted off into the blues for alot of years where solos are predominantly improvised. To me, thats what I like about Eddies playing is he can pull great stuff off spontaneously, thus the difference in opinion on his solo spot. I'd rather hear him take a chance and pull some new shit out rather than play the same stuff. We got the best of both worlds because he did a little of both.
What did you think of the camera work during the solo? awesome! I was thinking "I hope this is being video recorded", it would be great if there was a pro shot video released from this tour.
Later, |

Similar situation to mine, very active taper but not alot of time to branch and waste time on meaningless posts.
Chucky,
Being a taper is very important to us all but it doesn't give you a free pass on the requirements for a tree sign up. If I give you a pass on this then everybody is going to want a free pass on trees because they gave something to this forum. Whats the point of having the requirements if everybody gets a free pass. You sent me a PM right after the Black Sabbath tree closed telling me that you branching the Anaheim show doesn't mean shit for a tree sign up.. When did you branch it out?? Where in the forum was the sign up?? I don't remember a sign up for that just Marfish sending me a copy because you gave it too a few people and they sent it out... Before today and at the time of the Sabbath sign up you had 39 total posts and 31 of those were for sign ups and none of them had you as a branch on them. You said you do not have alot of time to branch and waste time on meaningless posts.. In the last 12+ hours you have posted 19 times in meaningless posts. Are you trying to boost your posts? You can have the 62 posts (31 tree sign up) to make the requirements but if you look at my other post of requirements I did last night I kind of changed the requirements.. Your post still won't be good enough to make the tree because you need to be a branch in 3 different trees. Keep making those meaningless posts and you will finally make it as a leaf. You could of tried to trade for a copy from somebody or even tried asking me instead of sending me that PM like the one you did.. I have been here a while and anybody who has dealt with me knows I try to do my best to make them happy and I have offered 10x more then you have here.. Not everybody is happy about these requirements but why is it your the only one whining about it... Send me your mailing address and I will send you a copy of the Black Sabbath...Ory |

wow, I forgot about this..
First off, I must state that I didn't tree this out because I did not receive word from Charles to do so. Since it was his recordings(that and being just a small handful of people that got his master copies), I felt the need for his word, for a 'go'. I sent 2 e-mails following the arrival of the discs and no reply. So I shitcanned the tree on my part..I just traded it out.
Had you just simply replied with a yes, this conversation would not be happening bro.
That also would have been a killer tree!!
I also think, that if the rules were bent for the cat that DID record 2 new shows we have, we wouldn't piss too many people off....I think ANY taper who wants to seed his shows here should get a pass....with good communication though of course...
with all due respect Gents! :thumb: |
