| I read a review on Amazon and the guy said he bought it at a VH show in July. Anyone in the group pick up the dvd at a 2004 show? Just wondering how it came out on dvd. What a great show that was. Hard to believe it was almost 20 years ago! |

| I picked it up at Best Buy on Tuesday for $11.99. I don't think it was that cheap when it first came out. It looks great. Would have been nice if they came up with some bonus footage though. :thumb: |

It's OK. if you liked the original VHS-release, you'll like this a bit more, for the convenience-factor, i guess.
yep, the sound's better. Dolby Digital 5.1 mix is way better than the DTS; more distinction, clearer seperation between instruments/vox.
nope, no added attractions/"bonus features". not a damn one.
picture quality's what you'd expect from a DVD, nothing spectacular; still fullscreen, not widescreen.
i dunno ... with minimal effort on the label's part, this could have been quite a bit more than it is: a mere re-release of a 1986 video.
underwhelmed, myself. |

| It's just nice to get an "official release" of something from VH. Now if we could get something official from "04". |

aren't there some quality-recordings from the last tour? i've seen one and it was plenty watchable/listenable (considering i loathe the whole damn affair since '93 or so).
It seems anything 'officially released' by "VH" anymore is tripe: stuff we all have already, nothing we want again. and, again and again. it's all for people who weren't VH fans When They Were Kings.
all these boots & such are THE REAL SHTUFF (always have been): done by fans for pure enjoyment by fans.
TRADE ON. |

All too true but I don't think that is anything unique to Van Halen, I see the Record Industry do that kind of crap all the time, minimal effort for maximum profit. It really annoys me but I think it has less to do with the artist and more to do with the record company. Sometimes maybe the artist doesn't care but other times it may be out of their control. In Van Halen's case I think the band just didn't care or have any input and the record company did this on their own. |

| I was into Walmart two days ago. They just priced a BUNCH of music/concert/video dvds at $9.72 or lower. VH Live Without a Net is one of them. |
