Guys

I am a branch for this tree and have received two lots of disks from Tunesmith in Hawaii that I cannot copy (all coming up with read errors). I've tried various methods and even passed them on to a friend who had the same result.

Can someone who has a good copy of his show please get in touch with me as I still have 3 leaves below me waiting for the disks.

Cheers

The original discs are bad, and lacking the first 3 tracks. The show is currently being re-authored, and you will hear more when it becomes available.

Are we talking about the version which was just treed out? My disks arrived fine with the exception that PowerDVD sometimes chokes on the menus. (other software DVD players do not)

That's correct, I've got the whole thing. Would my copy save someone from re-authoring it?

My copy also arrived fine except that PowerDVD has problems with it but it plays fine in WMP, it has the first three tracks too if you are talking about Unchained, HFT, and Drum solo.

Guys, you'll have to forgive me. I confused myself (yeah, yet again). I was thinking of another tree. Please send me an email. I can have this out in the mail for you tomorrow.

sorry, but both copys where checked for errors, the second copy i went all the way thru including all files and everything was ok. since everyone here has a copy of what i sent out, i really do not think sending more copy's of the same thing is going to help you,but what do i know :D
as i suggested, perhaps someone in andys AREA could help
i have a small lil pile of stuff that wont play on mine but plays just fine on yerfdog;s, and we have almost the same burner! go figure
So a lil help for andy would be cool, maybe we could all pick one and send to the leafs?

Andy, do you happen to have a high speed internet connection? Since it doesn't look like more disks would help I am wondering about sending it to you over the 'net.

No, I agree. It is strange - both versions of disk 2 fall over at the same place and I would probably put the error down to burner compatability like you say if it weren't for the fact that my friend had the same issue???
Hmmm - maybe he has the same burner as me... I'll see if another guy I know can have a go at copying these disks today, but I won't hear from him til Monday with a result.

Actually, what I'll do is mail one of Tunesmith's copies to one of the 2 UK leaf people I have and see if it plays for them OK as another test. So, give us til Monday and I'll get back to you.

And, no I've not got a broadband conection.

Cheers

Are you saying the MD5 checksum verifications are failing or is it just that you are experiencing playback difficulties? The reason for the MD5 checksums was to eliminate back copies by offering a way to verify that each copy was a duplicate of the original. All other problems, provided the MD5 checksums passed, would be associated with incompatible equipment and/or software..

I used to get every production of mine nitpicked to death with a lot of problems being related to equipment and copying errors. When the Rush community switched over to SHN trading, a lot of these issues completely disappeared. We then took it upon ourselves to move that verification process on over to PC produced dvd recordings. Once again, it has reduced issues with dvd trading to near nothing. I really recommend that other dvd producers also utilize the MD5 approach to save on headaches that have nothing to do with the recordings themselves but rather equipment or software problems.
