Sammy changed his solo in Tampa tonight. Taken from the VHML:

"Sammy's voice was perfect. I've been impressed with every show I've seen this tour. He did 'Tropic of Capricorn' and 'Hallejulah' for his solo. He said they were stuck in New Orleans for three days because of the "fucking hurricane"."

I would have to agree Sammy's vocals where at a peak.
laid-law opened the show, some nice southernrock. They went over pretty good but then again we are in the south.
Eddie was on fire. I have seen Van Halen everytime they have been here to tampa, and I have never seen Eddie so alive. He even sang a verse of one of the songs solo.
He walked out to the edge of the stage befor the show started waved to the crowd and did some stretching exercises.
He talked to the crowd during his solos and continued to pump his fist into the air during the show to keep the crowd in it.
Micheals bass solo was short but he did do the vocals during Somebody get me a Doctor.
Sammy was all over the place, taking drinks from peoples cups that sat to close to the stage, sighned everything in sight, even the girl who pulled her shirt up exposeing her tits. If only she had asked for my autograph.
Alex didn't miss a beat either, he is as good as he has ever been.
I can't wait for a album of new material...
If you can only go to one show this is the show you need to go.
Van Halen kicks ass!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ps. I even got a lot of compliments from my 1982 Diverdown concert jersey. Yes I am that old. I just wish I had Eddie's energy.

Sure, now he plays Tropic of Capricorn (my favorite Sammy song) after my three VH shows this summer. Doh!

Did they do the Hot For Teacher tease?

The show was incredible. The 5 star were worth it for sure.Soundcheck was incredible. No Sammy at soundcheck.Which kinda sucked on one hand, but the more I think about it,it was better cause it would have been anticlimactic to see the whole band play before the actual concert.Ed,Al and Mike played Poundcake,I'm The One,Runnin' With The Devil,It's About Time,Why Can't This Be Love,Jump.Mike sang ITO and RWTD in their entirety as well as bits and pieces of the others. They jammed for at least 1/2 an hour

The concert itself was the best.I've seen people rip Eddie's playing this tour and from what I've heard on bootlegs and what I saw last night I thought he was incredible.I always thought sometimes he played too by the book. He's much looser which I think is great. That guitar solo was something to be seen.God I hope someone recorded the show!! Him and Al played the intro to Hot For Teacher. Then Ed went to the mic and said something to the effect of "I have no idea what I'm gonna do,so if you don't like it stick your earplugs in".The solo was about 15 minutes and it blew me away.

The setlist was the same except like the said Sammy did Tropic Of Capricorn and Hallelujah during his solo.Sammy was in great voice as usual. He signed my 5 star pass and sat down directly in front of me and stuck the mic in my face to sing during Ain't Talkin Bout Love (I apologize to anyone who was there because I'm pretty sure my usually melodious singing voice was shot at that point :thumb: .Sammy even reached down and shook my hand before they
left the stage at the end of the show

All in all the show was incredible and the four of them looked like they were having the time of their lives, which hopefully means more albums and tours for us.To see something I wasn't so sure I'd ever see again and have it be so damn good is the best
