i was at the show in atlanta ladt night.i sat center stage 24 rows from the stage.laidlaw was the opening act, they got a good response from the audience.something alot of folks may not know is that there drummer used to be alex van halen's drum tech.anyway, lets get on to the van halen review.the show started at around 8:30 and ended about 10:30.i went in expecting alot and left very happy.eddie guitar tone was awesome.alexs drums sounded amazing.alex played about a 10 minute solo that great.sammy done the eagles fly/tropic of capricorn song.when it was time for eddies solo, they started with intro to hot for teacher, which was very cool.the audience went nuts.eddie said he was just fu#@ing around and to throw something at him if you didnt like it.his solo kicked major ass,he didnt play the same stuff that he has been playing.you could tell he was having a blast.at the end of the solo,he thanked the fans several times.at the end of the show he thanked the fans several more times and said without the fans, this dont mean shit........

Atlanta was a great show, not very much hugging going on anymore, compared to Worcester back in June, but Eddie did reply to Sammy's yells of his name (EDDIE!!!!, SAMMYY!!!). Mike passed the little bottle of JD for a regular sized bottle, and took a big ole' rip for Atlanta. Eddie loosened up quite a bit after the solo, makes me think he should do it earlier, seemed like he had more fun after the solo. No 316 in his solo, so no Wolfie either. The crowd got into Sammy's solo with all the Cabo video for Tropic, but at first people were running for beer/bathroom breaks, the one's that stuck around got a good version. I had tickets to Greenville SC, so I'm glad the Atlanta show was so close, I bet a lot of people from the Columbia & Charlotte shows were as well. I'm happy just to have seen them twice on this tour. They are still #1 for me always.
