This is not a signup!

I am going to be putting together an audio tree of several 1993 VH shows. Steecoe is graciously sending me four shows he recorded. I also have two more coming on trade with njn, as well as two that I already have. I'm looking for feedback on what to include. Here are the shows I have to choose from:

Steecoe's shows (all four of these will most likely be in the tree)
07/03/93 DARIEN LAKE AMUSEMENT PARK, DARIEN CENTER, NY
07/04/93 CUYUGA COUNTY FAIRGROUNDS, WEEDSPORT, NY
07/24/93 STARWOOD AMPHITHEATRE, ANTIOCH, TN
7/25/93 DEER CREEK MUSIC CENTER, NOBLESVILLE, IN

Other shows:
03/30/93 WONT GET FOOLED AGAIN MUNICH, GER OLYMPIAHALLE AUD 2 CD
04/21/93 PARIS, FR ZENITH
08/22/93 SACRAMENTO, CA
08/27/93 ROCKING MY HOMETOWN - COSTA MESA, CA

Rocking My Hometown and Won't Get Fooled Again seem to be fairly common among trade lists, so maybe we should leave those out. I only have those two right now, so I can't make comparisons on quality yet. What do you guys think? We could tree all of them, and people could just sign up for the shows they don't already have. But that might complicate things too much. This is my first tree afterall. :)
Not to get ahead of myself, but after this tree, I'd ike to tree a bunch of 1995 shows.

Alright, what does everyone think?

I'd definitely include all the steecoe shows in the tree. And if you can handle it, throw in the Paris & Sacramento shows as well, if the sound quality is there. :) :p

BTW, thanks for treeing these out! :thumb:

nice idea - to put several shows from one tour together.

I was thinking that you could include all in the tree; and individual leafs could work out a deal for the shows they need from the branches. It could get a little confusing - so all parties will have to be responsible and provide quality communication.

Well worth having.
Just my 2 cents.

Matt, If you want I could supply you with July 31, 1993, Alpine Valley, East Troy, Wisconsin. Which I think sounds great but I don't know if there would be much interest in it since it was Tree'd just a year ago or so. If you want it though it is yours. If anyone out there has a copy and wants to comment on the quality, I'd love to hear it!

EDIT

As far as the quality ... Steecoe's versions and the Alpine Valley, there are none better. These are from the masters.

does anyone know how many sources exist of these shows?

I have all of these shows already and i'm curious if these versions are better than the ones I have.

GREAT IDEA. My 2 cents?... I already have it, but include 7-31-93. Ron "remastered" his recording, and took out a screamer. I think it's the best one out there from 1993 along with 4-21-93 in Paris

I'd like to get my hands on all of the shows that sound good, so maybe we could do two trees with about 5 shows in each tree and have people sign up for what they want.

Is Ron's remastered copy of the 07/31/93 show different from the one Frank supplied for that tree last year? Let's get the best of everything if we can.
Here's the possible list so far:

Steecoe's shows:
07/03/93 DARIEN LAKE AMUSEMENT PARK, DARIEN CENTER, NY
07/04/93 CUYUGA COUNTY FAIRGROUNDS, WEEDSPORT, NY
07/24/93 STARWOOD AMPHITHEATRE, ANTIOCH, TN
07/25/93 DEER CREEK MUSIC CENTER, NOBLESVILLE, IN
Other shows:
03/30/93 WONT GET FOOLED AGAIN - MUNICH, GERMANY, OLYMPIAHALLE
04/21/93 PARIS, FR, ZENITH
07/31/93 ALPINE VALLEY, EAST TROY, WI
08/22/93 SACRAMENTO, CA
08/27/93 ROCKING MY HOMETOWN - COSTA MESA, CA

Any other shows that need to get around?
Just with this list, we could do Steecoe's recordings as Tree #1 and the others as Tree #2, but if there are a few more good shows out there, we could do maybe six in each tree.
Keep the ideas coming.

This Paris show was the first of two, but the second one was canceled due to Sam's vocal problems as you will hear.......
I was there - had a meet and greet pass for both shows, but it was cancelled on day one allready...still made a nice recording of the show!!!

good luck with the tree(s) :thumb: - I'll definately sign in...cheers,

FreddyTeep.

I'm just guessing but my guess is that spanked just mis-spoke and that the "Ron" remaster and the one tree'd last year are the same. My notes from the show indicated that I removed a mad whistler from the left channel to improve the sound of the recording and I think that is what spanked is referring to, but I could be wrong, I have been in the past.

I noticed that detail about the mad whistler. :) I was thinking the same thing, but maybe someone else can enlighten us. Ron?
