I was listed to Dr. Doug Podel on WRIF today and he had a guest on named Vince Ballew. Seems the guy is from MI and wrote a book about Sammy and the conversations they had, concert experiences, etc. The guy sounded "With it" on the radio making the book sound interesting as well. No guarantees though....just passing along a little FYI is all.

I purchaced this book, and read it in one sitting, it is very short, It was just about 1 persons review of about 12 different sam shows hes attended. I was dissappointed in it, It seemed like a rich dude that wrote a book, i kind of wondered how he got it published when I was done with it. One for the collection I guess, but not highly recomended here. Just 1 persons opinion though.

| The "Doc of Rock" Doug Podel. I haven't heard that name in about 20 years. I remember him from KQRS in Minneapolis. |

He is still around. Great guy actually. He lives a few streets over and built a house right behind a good friend of ours. Talk about some great parties!
In the last few years I think he was having issues with his age and such because he has done spots for hair restoration, cosmetic dentistry, and lasik surgery. All of which he has had done. Now he is doing spots for a plastic surgeon. Guess we know what he is having done next. lol |

| Doug Podell (The Doc of Rock) was on the radio in Cleveland for a while when I lived there in the early 90's. I think he was at the station that had the Howard Stern scandal when some wires got cut during a live broadcast from Cleveland. |
