What was the membership count before the reunion was announced? I'm wondering how much interest that actually gave VH sites versus being used by pure VH fans.

You have any numbers for over the years/months?

I don't have those numbers handy but I can look into it.

That would be interesting, seems like membership has really exploded in the last year and a half or so.

rebel,

it can probably directly correlate to the band activity after so many years of dormancy.

You can get some idea by going to the member list and sorting by "joined date".
For example there were about 1400 members at the beginning of march, when I think the tour was announced.
Scott, it would be interesting if the sort could go by "last post" or "last login" to see how many are active. This could also be useful when it looks like someone has disappeared from a tree.

Looking back, I believe on April 26-27, 2001 I sent out the "official" word that the forums were open and made the link "public". These numbers aren't perfect, as many accounts have been deleted and a several members have two or more accounts.

The site is a great community and has been an excellent resource as well (e.g., artwork, tour listings etc). Thanks for your efforts Scott.

To get to 5150 members, I think we'll need a reunion with Gary, another break up, then another reunion with Roth... at that time I think we'll hit 5150 :D

Of course everyone here could sign up for a second account.

Or maybe we should hold some kind of contest and reward the winner with the 5150-th account number (even if we haven't reached the number yet). That way we know one of our regulars has that honor, and not some 2-posting bum!

Congratulations Scott. 2500 members is a lot to look after, and I'm sure that I'm not the only one who is still "discovering" new parts of the site!
To boldly go where..........

Yeah Scott, Thanks. I still can't believe growing up in a small coal mining town in Northeastern Pa. and being a VH fan since 78 that I would be able to communicate and be among VH fanatics like you all. In the words of Flounder " This is Great".

I have watched this site for a couple of years...but without being able to at least contribute by branching I felt like I would just be leeching. After I got my "upgrade" computer with dvd burning ect. I did not feel as much like a leecher and joined. Hell...I even went a bought another computer for my office at work so that I would be able to do more since I am at work more than at home. The new tour really got everybody back on the wagon and with the costs of burners and blanks coming down I think all of this contributed to more involvement. The reputation of this site carries over to the other VH sties...I see posts on those sites...but not one of those sites even comes close to being a "family" style site where everybody gets along and seems to care about the others. I see the need for a great site like VHTrading. I know there are plenty here that belong to the other sites...but the "feel" here is the only good "feel" of any of the VH sites that I surf thru. You guys that started this and maintain this site are our "commanders" and we just belong to the VH Army...we were not drafted here...we volunteered for it...and our Army is growing...and when it is big enough...we will go whip somebodys ass if they don't like VH! Ok...sorry for the mini rant--good day...Kent
