Usually I don't like Polls but this has been on my mind ...

What song has a band opened a show with that you thought was just perfect? Not just Van Halen but any band ...

I thought Van Halen opening with Seventh Seal in 1995 was a perfect choice. I also thought opening with Mine All Mine was a great choice, was that 1993?

When I saw Ratt in 1997 and they opened with Wanted Man I thought that was awesome.

In 1981 when Rush opened the Moving Pictures shows with 2112 Overture and Temples Of Syrinx I thought that was great but even better was ending the show with 2112 Grand Finale ... opening to closing ... good selection.

I also thought Aerosmith's Eat The Rich was a good choice.

Any thoughts?

Saw the Scorpions in '84 opening with "Coming Home" and Sammy in '82 opened with "Heavy Metal". I liked both of those.

On a weird note, when I saw Ratt on their "Invasion..." tour they opened up with "What you give is what you get" which I thought was a strange one.

"Unchained" in '84 was pretty kick ass. Going the non- VH route, Aerosmith opening with "Back in the Saddle" was a great way to start.

I would have to with "Witching hour" for venom and "Battery" for metallica. Both songs have slow beginings to gear you up for a great show. :)

LMAO, you would have to ask the set list experts for a specific show date, i may be wrong but it just seemed like the ultimate opener and closer for that matter.......

Hands down the 3/26/05 Crowes show...opened with Diamond Cursed. All I can say is that heaven for waterproof mascara. Next to the birth of my boys, nothing has ever moved me like that show did or hearing them open with that song.

All good choices so far.....I'm gonna go with the 1982 Judas Priest screaming for Vengence tour.......Hellion / Electric Eye........Priest was really on top of their game from 1980 - 1984. I remeber getting the "shivers" as they came on stage!

Great Poll.

this is not my favorite...but one of my first concerts i saw that i remembered. It was Quiet Riot on their first opening act tour. This is just when Metal Health was released. The openned and closed with Metal Health. I guess they didn't have anything else people could singalong too ...i guess

Funny, I was thinking of them too. When I saw them on that tour they opened with "Run for Cover" which I thought was a good opener.
