|
|
| What is it going to take for the geniouses who vote who gets inducted into the rock n roll hall of fame to realize that Van Halen, Kiss, Judas Priest, and Iron Maiden are very well deserved and eligible to get in? I'm just curious. I know for a fact that all four of the bands I mentioned had a trememdous influence on rock n roll, and they should have all been inducted in their first year of eligibility. So why do they keep on ignoring these talents? Rediculous if you ask me. :furious: |

| VH actually made the first cut in their first year, but they didn't make it past the final cut. |

Are they just like the selection committee for the NFL Hall of Fame, which are a bunch of sports journalists that do the selections. In this case are they music journalists or musicians?

| It might be a joke but the potential Hall induction is maybe one of the only scenarios that Dave would be back with the bros. At least for one night anyway. Its going to happen ;) one of these days. |

Just my opinion, but I think we may see Van Halen get in within the next year or two if they can keep the band together and rolling onward. I think a new succesful album would cement induction. As always, let's hope VH stays together.
I love Kiss, and they should be in as well. I think they're hurting themselves with the paint on Eric Singer and Tommy Thayer though. Seems they've cheapened their reputation and turned alot of people off with that and some of their other actions over the last few years. Rumors of members not actually playing the music on the albums could also be a big negative. |

AMEN TO THAT!!
That just proves that the Hall is (at least now) a big joke. They HAVE gotten back together, toured consistently, and have PROVED their incredible range of influence to a new generation of listeners. What more do ya want?? :furious: |

| Well, Sabbath's in this year. So are the Sex Pistols who were one of the first, if not the first "punk rock" band. There is something to be said with "Who is popular right now". Jann Werner from Rolling Stone and his writers are the main group who decide who is going in or out. Rolling Stone has always hated Kiss, from the ignoring of Eric Carr's passing(which Gene & Paul wrote a letter to them that they published), to never mentioning in any of their lame ass Greatest yada, yada, yada. I don't really understand why Van Halen has been ignored the last 2 years. They've also ignored John Mellencamp. Both have been in the magazine and on the cover many times, as well as all over radio to this day. Just like with Sabbath and the Sex Pistols, the fans are going to have to harass them enough to include artists that really deserve it. |
