I would guess that is a bad assumption. Just because pressed manufactured DL disc play fine I would not assume "burnt" DL DVDRs will play just fine too. I have a dual layer burner and yeah they are not that expensive but the media is. This day has been coming and Silver Stallion has been looking into this too. I have been a little gun shy about the whole thing because of the cost of the media but I guess that will eventually come down in price too. I don't know, I guess I havta think about this for a little bit.

I was focusing on the dual layer part of it, not the burned/pressed issue.

The first 10 pack of DVD-R's that I bought cost me around $75 bucks. So $4 bucks a disc doesn't sound all that bad. I'm off to Best Buy shortly and will check out the DL media there...Their web site (bestbuy.com) is showing the best price at around $6 per disc right now...

Is this a sign up thread?
If I sign up as a leaf, dual layer wouldn't be a real issue, eh?

I've got a couple dual layer DVD burners, but haven't tried burning one yet due to the high(er) cost of the blank media.

Normally I would not have a problem with it but last time things got so crazy that it was a PAIN making sure who wanted them got them. The best thing to do is to have one place so there are no issues. At least keeping them at one place keeps the issues down to a minimum. I do want to get the shows out there...that's why there will be a ton of trees ran from the site...but I don't have the time to organize any of it. I need to have someone else "admin" the tree and this way it really limits the chances of problems happening. I also want to make the trees available to EVERYONE and there are people that love Motley but aren't into VH so they would not come here and see the tree even posted. That's another reason why we have them in one centralized place. I am hoping to tree out TONS of stuff so if you are wanting to participate then hop on board.

I also know this show will show up on Ebay but hopefully the ones that really want it will sign up for it so they won't have to get it on Ebay. As a matter of fact I received an email this morning with 3 of my titles on Ebay...and they even use my name in the auctions. You can totally stop it from happening but if trees are provided then no one can say they were not given an opportunity to get this FOR FREE!

As far as hammock getting banned from this site...this is the first I have heard of this. He has been on my list dealing with people for a while and I am unaware of any issues. What was the problem with hammock?

Thanks,
Cale

i have a dual layer burner but have not yet tried it myself.

as far as trees, branches ,vines, shrubs hell even twigs finding their way way to ebay most everyone one that signs up for these they have trade lists and trade with other people.on another forum we have a kiss anthology being made by the owner of the site and it recently got put on ebay.this happened because one of the guys traded it with someone that doesnt go to the site and that guy sold it on ebay.that guy feels bad but it happens.
thats just my 2 cents about ebay.it a shame it happens.
the motley upgrade sounds awesome

Thats exactly why I NEVER put my name on my finished dvds. Not because of ebay, no stopping that, but do you really want your name floating around for unwanted eyes to see? I know alot of authors want to be known for their work(myself included), But if you do a dvd in a certain Style, people know where it came from, just saying. :D

I guess that would depend how much the band "cared" about bootlegs or not. I myself have never done (nor will do) a Metallica title for just that reason. I used to work in the record industry and most of the bands I dealt with loved getting boots and seeing them "passed" around....but if there was a mention of cash I have personally seen artists get irate about it. You wouldn't believe who I have gotten emails from that have seen my work...and some wanting more ; )

Thanks,
Cale
