Thanks to all!

One of my best RnR stories is from the night of my 19th b-day party. We went to see Triumph at the Blackhawk Motor Inn..just north of Toronto. Even as a bar band, they had lots of pyro. No more than the third song in, flashpot flames are dancing on the low ceiling, very close to a sprinkler head. I remember wondering "how hot could those flames be?", when the sprinklers went off. Soaked the stage & equipment, audience got a little bit wet. Show was cancelled and it took weeks to get our $3 back.

A number of years later after they made it big, I heard (or read) a Gil Moore interview where he described the night that there was a foot of water on the floor of this place and how everything was soaked. Poetic licence, indeed.

Can burn -R....can read either format.

Quote: I remember wondering "how hot could those flames be?", when the sprinklers went off.

The sprinkler head was most likely activated at 155(F) degrees....(I'm a Fire Protection Engineer)....One Hollywood mis-conception I love to clarify to people is that when a fire activates a sprinkler system ONLY a few sprinkler heads will go off. Hollywood usually shows every single sprinkler head in a building discharging water when someone sticks a burning piece of paper up to a sprinkler head...but in that senario only that one head will activate and discharge water.
(engineering snooze fest!!!!)
(You can imagine how much my wife "loves" watching movies with me when I point out these "interesting" things.... Z-z-z-z-z-z-z-)
