| Does anyone know how to fix TAO discs? I have a TAO copy of Reno '84, would like to trade this (seems kind of "rare"), but since I won't/don't trade TAO discs it's been sitting on a shelf for over a year. Anybody feel up to repairing this? Better yet, anyone have a clean copy of this to trade? |

Hey hey hey,
Here is what I do for a TAO.
The show has to have the original transitions between the songs still there with just the two seconds added. As when the exact 2 secs are removed there should be little or no transition between the tracks.
I use Goldwave and Cakewalk's Pyro. First I strip all the tracks and run them through Goldwave (wav file editor). Make sure there are no leadin gaps then head to the end of the track and snip at "the exact point" the wav goes flat. Save. Repeat as needed.
The "test" is at the end when you reburn and listen. there should be no jumps pop skips repeats gaps etc. If there are you go back and fix them, referring to the notes you took on what needed what.
If the track has a gap in the middle or a repeat snip it then use AddWave to join them back together.
It is a little more tricky finding that "right" spot to snip but after awhile you can restore a TAO back with "IMHO" no harm done.
If it doesn't work out you can still trade it no problem just mention it up front and trade copies of your original TAO copy.
After all a TAO Reno 84 is better than NO Reno 84 :D
Take Care!

I do understand Rich, but its 8:30 am ;-)
The shift button was a bit sticky and I was kindof dozing myself. So in honour of my very southern neighbor, ahem:
"It is better to have a TAO copy then "not to" have any copy at all" (until replaced or fixed).
Take Care!!!
