I wish i had the UL Rate you have in Korea.
Korea is great for bittorrent. I can upload at 420K 24/7 every day of the month and the ISP will never say a word. And I pay for standard internet service (around $30/month). I've uploaded 2.3 terabytes at Dimeadozen alone.
Hey Randy...congratulations....I noticed yesterday when I was up at Dime that you are up to 8th place IN THE WORLD on upload sharing....thanks for all that you offer up to us dummies! :thumb:

guitard wrote: Can we also consider incorporating bittorrent into future trees? I know there are several people here who download DVDs at Dimeadozen, because they use the same account IDs at both sites and they download shows that I upload there. This would especially be effective for small trees.
People with the bandwidth and bittorrent know-how could be branches, and they could download the show from Dimeadozen (along with several other people at Dimeadozen who would just make the download go that much more quickly). Of course, the person initiating the tree would have to have good bandwidth and bittorrent knowledge also.
People without bittorrent capability could be leaves.
The person initiating the tree would torrent the show(s), the branches would get it(them) in 1-4 days, and then from there it would continue on as if it were a traditional tree.
This would save the person initiating the tree a lot of time and effort (no burning, packaging, or trip to the PO). And it would save him/her money (no disks, mailers, or postage).
Just something to think about...
Randy
I have the bandwidth and I d/l quite a bit via bittorrent. I've downloaded a lot of your shows too Randy. :thumb:
Another site you can use along with Dime is JTT. It's VH based. I can be one branch. Just let me know. |

Excellent idea, I would also be able to help out as a branch. Great way to shorten the process :thumb: |

When you hit a website your browser typically tells the web site where you came from to get there (i.e. what the previous page you visited was - or something like that). I have heard of some other people experiencing the same issue and they had to do something like clear their history or clear their cache or something like that. Also I think going to Dime from some site like Yahoo or something might help. Try going to Yahoo and perform a search on Dime and then click on the click and see if you can get in that way. I'll try looking for the site where I saw someone saying they were having the same issue and see if I can find out more for you.
EDIT:
These may help you ...

I think Randy has a good idea with the BitTorrent. I also like the idea of still having leaves for the people who aren't able to get BT yet.
www.jamtothis.com is already set up and is a VH site that a lot of us here already use. Right now we are torrenting out a bunch of VH:
93 Promo Reel
Memphis 81
Media Collection 77-85
Archive 91-95
Sao Paulo 83
Greensboro 04
Albany 04
Vegas 84
Toronto 04
OR traditional trees are still good to. Let's just get some VH going.

| Are people still interested in a regular tree for any of this stuff? I will be happy to start one from my collection if so. |

| I didn't read any responses but first, the correct Largo 1982 date is October 12, 1982. Not October 11. Second, "Rio de Janeiro 1/27/83" does not exist, as they didn't even play that date in Rio. |
