15 Years Ago Today — Van Halen Launches First Tour With David Lee Roth Since ’84

15 years ago today (9/27/07) Van Halen launched their North American tour in Charlotte NC, bringing David Lee Roth back as lead singer on stage for the first time since 1984. In between, of course, there was the Van Hagar era and the short-lived Gary Cherone years. The 2007 tour marked the departure of Michael Anthony and the addition of Wolfgang Van Halen, Eddie Van Halen’s then 16-year-old son on bass. Check out footage of the show from Charlotte 2007 below.

Time goes by so fast. Damn.

I was at that concert – sat down front with the legendary “Steecoe” who taped the show. I believe that still remains the best recording of that show out there. Great time, great memories. I miss seeing VH.
