2 Dutch Guys On A VH Road Trip To Texas

What an afternoon in the pub not can do. That’s when the best ideas are born.
This is also where the idea was born to go and see Van Halen on tour in 2015 in the USA, together with my friend Michel Schinkel. Because of the great set-list, stage show, the fact it’s been 20 years since they’ve been tot Holland (and I’ve seen them live) and the case that it might be the last time we’ll ever see them live, we decided to go off to Texas.
Because of the long distance en the expenses we decided to do multiple shows in Austin, Dallas and Houston.
After having contact back and forth by email with Janie Liszewski and Janine Edwards we got the green light that we could meet the band in person in Austin at the 360 Amphitheater. So tickets were booked, hotels were arranged, loads of stuff for the band, which they can only get in Holland were bought and we flew over for a once in a lifetime experience.
The shows were fantastic, meeting Alex was a once in a lifetime experience and nerve wrecking, because tickets were not ready, backstage passes were unknown to security, the weathers was too hot…
Unfortunately there was no time left to speak to Wolfgang and Edward…….bummer!!
I could write a book about all the things we have seen and have done, but pictures often tell more than words. So just enjoy.
