I was wondering if there are any news on the new WOLFIE record … April would be the right time…

I haven’t heard anything … although I admittedly am not keeping my ear to the ground on this one.

What I would be curious to know is how is it going to be promoted in terms of touring behind the album? It’s safe to assume that Ed is very emotionally invested and wants it to be a homerun for Wolf. Of course, one way to promote the album with a bang would be for Ed (and maybe even Uncle Al) to tour with Wolf as his backing band. However, that kind of opens a can or worms because some fans would show up to see Ed, and more or less ignore Wolf. So could they somehow pull this off? Could Wolf be the focal point of the show with Ed kind of hanging out around the back of the stage avoiding the spot light? Maybe switch things up with Wolf on guitar and Ed on bass?

Well the guy who produced Wolfs record is now doing the new Alter Bridge album…He also produces the Tremonti albums..
Also the guy that mixed Wolfs is now working with AB..
May be Wolf & Ed touching a few things up with it..
Wonder if Wolf sung all vocals ?

I tweeted Tremonti & asked him would Wolf be Touring Europe with him in the next few months he said NO…

I know that will never happen but that would be one way for Ed to help promote the hell out of Wolfgang while still doing Van Halen and not really taking the spot light off Wolf’s solo effort. Than again they could do the same thing without Mike with Wolf just pulling double duty and being in the opening band and 30 minutes later taking the stage with Van Halen.

The opening slot for a true CVH reunion would be a hell of an opportunity for a hungry, deserving, upcoming band… so naturally Ed would give it to to Wolf… If that’s what it takes to get Mike up there – fine.

A few months back I stated my theory that Wolf, Ed & Al would do shows as the ‘Three Twins’.. I still think this will happen at some level.

Wolfgang Van Halen will appear on SEVENDUST guitarist Clint Lowery’s debut solo album. Helming the disc is Michael “Elvis” Baskette, who has previously worked with SEVENDUST, ALTER BRIDGE and SLASH, among others. A late 2019 release via Rise Records is expected.

Asked by a fan on Twitter who will play drums on the album, Clint responded: “@WolfVanHalen will be playing drums, maybe some bass. I’ll do the rest. Just not good enough on the kit myself to pull it off in studio.”

Lowery originally announced his plans to record a solo album in June 2018. He stated at the time: “In the past, I released a few things close to a solo release with HELLO DEMONS… MEET SKELETONS (mainly acoustic); CALL ME NO ONE, which I did with [SEVENDUST drummer] Morgan Rose. Both projects were truly amazing experiences and still want to entertain doing more CALL ME NO ONE and HELLO DEMONS… MEET SKELETONS in the future. But I’ve decided to release a project under my name that is gonna represent where I’m at musically right now. I feel the need to do this and stand on my own two feet and push myself to make some music that moves me. To express myself.”

Earlier this year, Clint said that his debut solo disc would “have all of the elements of previous releases (HELLO DEMONS… MEET SKELETONS and CALL ME NO ONE) but also some new territory.” He also revealed that the album would feature “some very cool contributions from some amazing musicians.”

Last year, Wolfgang completed work on his debut solo album, which was mixed by Baskette. The VAN HALEN bassist was reportedly “doing it all” on the disc, playing all the drums, bass, guitars and keyboards himself, in addition to handling all the vocal tracks.

Wolfgang told The Pulse Of Radio a while back that his ability to play different instruments gave him the freedom to do what he wanted on a solo project. “I mean, I feel like it’s just kind of open-ended,” he said. “I feel like since I can play drums, bass, guitar and kind of sing, I guess, I can kind of just decide whatever I want to do. I mean, I’ve always loved the whole Dave Grohl story of how he started FOO FIGHTERS — just did a whole demo album by himself.”

His father described the project in 2015 as sounding like “AC/DC meets VAN HALEN meets aggressive pop,” adding, “It’s a little of everything and sounds like a freight train coming at you. I’ve never heard anything quite like it. It’s so powerful that I’m jealous.”

There’s still no official indication as to when or how Wolfgang’s album might see release.

Wolfgang first performed live with VAN HALEN on the band’s 2007-2008 world tour, which also marked the return of original singer David Lee Roth. He made his recording debut on the band’s 2012 album “A Different Kind Of Truth”.

Wolfgang has also toured as a member of ALTER BRIDGE guitarist Mark Tremonti’s solo band and played bass on TREMONTI’s second album.

Wolfgang Van Halen Signs Deal With Explorer1 Music Group for Solo Album: Exclusive

Wolfgang Van Halen is one step closer to his long-awaited solo album.

The singer and multi-instrumentalist — the 28-year-old son of Eddie Van Halen and Valerie Bertinelli who’s a member of Van Halen and former member of Tremonti — has signed an exclusive deal with Explorer1 Music Group for an album he’s in “the final stages” of recording with producer Michael “Elvis” Baskette at Van Halen’s 5150 Studios in California. The announcement calls the set “a collection of diverse material…original songs ranging from haunting ballads to stomping rock classics, on which (Van Halen) recorded all the instruments and vocals himself.”

No title, release date or other details have been announced.

Van Halen started out playing drums when he was nine years old, then picked up guitar at age 12. “My dad taught me power chords and I just took it from there,” Van Halen told Billboard a few years back. “Same with drumming; My dad just taught me a straightforward, ‘Black in Black’-like AC/DC drum beat and I just kind of took it from there. Then I picked up bass when I was 15.”

Van Halen came on board his father and uncle’s band for its 2007-2008 reunion tour and appears on the albums A Different Kind of Truth and Tokyo Dome Live in Concert. He was part of Creed/Alter Bridge guitarist Mark Tremonti’s band during the mid 2000s, playing on the albums Cauterize and Dust, and the idea of making his own music was always part of Van Halen’s agenda.

“I’ve always loved the whole Dave Grohl story of how he started Foo Fighters and just did a whole demo album by himself. I’d love to do that,” Van Halen said. “I feel like I can play drums, bass, guitar, kinda sing, I guess. I can kinda decide whatever I want to do. I feel like it’s just kind of open-ended. I definitely would like to be a drummer in a band at some point. There’s no limit, really.”

In the announcement, Van Halen notes that, “It’s been a long time coming and I can’t wait for everyone to hear what I’ve been working on.” Explorer1 Music Group CEO Paul Woolnough says, “While I knew it was going to be something special, when I was first invited to the studio, nothing prepared me for the quality, uniqueness and maturity of the songs that blasted out of the monitors. It’s an absolute honor to be working with Wolfgang and his team and being part of the next chapter in the Van Halen family legacy.”
