Does anyone have Dio 10/23/1984 low gen video?

Your question leads me to ask a question that has puzzled me for quite a while now. Back in the vhs days before dvd the most asked question was “what generation is it?”
Now I’m a snail mailer,never downloaded a video in my life. Is there a difference in the quality when getting a dvd direct from the filmer on a disk vs downloading it off of a torrent site by someone else? Has anyone ever compared the two. I’ve always thought that there has to be some loss going through the internet?

Digital bits on a disc (ones and zeros) are the same regardless of whether they came straight from a filmer, or through different people on the Internet. Assuming (because there is always opportunity for trouble), people can make accurate copies, it’ll be the same either way.

In the online trading circles, many shows are traded with checksum files that can be used to assure that an accurate copy has been made/received. Copying of Audio CDs is actually far more iffy than copying a DVD.
