id='q-57151'><p>Came across a &#8220;news story&#8221; that mentioned a connection between a band called &#8220;D&#8217;Molls&#8221;, and David Lee Roth.  It mentioned they were managed by DLR.  Haven&#8217;t no memory of this, I did a little digging.</p><p>Seems that D&#8217;Molls were originally known as The Chicago Molls, and they came to LA back in 1985 and landed a record contract with Atlantic.</p><p>Not sure if they were actually managed by DLR, or DLR&#8217;s people (Pete Angelus and Pat Whitley).</p><p>Eventually the lead guitarist, Desi Rexx, moved on and joined David Lee Roth&#8217;s touring band playing rhythm guitar, but after months of rehearsals and a couple of days on tour, he was let go.<br

id='q-57163'><p>I have a radio broadcast on cassette of the premiere of &#8220;A little Aint Enough&#8221; hosted by &#8220;Red Beard&#8221; (remember that guy) and its pretty much a song by song breakdown and DLR references Desi Rexx and Brett Tuggle on keyboards who were going to be touring members. Didnt know he got dropped so quickly.</p><p>BTW: I have two D&#8217;Molls CD&#8217;S &#8211; Not to bad, the signer has a kind of talk/sing thing going on.<br

On the &#8217;94 Tour he quit unexpectedly supposedly wanting more money according to Dave then was replaced by Rocket Richotte for the rest of the &#8217;94 Tour</p><p>There&#8217;s a lot more to this Desi Rexx D&#8217;Molls 1991 connection I ran across a few tidbits last year while compiling info about DLR&#8217;s 1991 era. I&#8217;m surprised to see this post topic pop up here now.</p><p>Bob Ezrin was the initial producer for the ALAE album. He brought in Steve Hunter. There were many demos with another guitarist before Jason Becker during preproduction.</p><p>Now- This Desi Rexx D&#8217;Molls connection had something to do with a dispute within the band aallegedly Pete Angelus &amp; Patrick Whitley whom were involved had Desi Rexx join the DLR tour specifically to dissolve the D&#8217;Molls band without entangling them from contractual stipulations of some sort.</p><p>Rocket Richotte worked on demos  touring first in &#8217;91 then again in &#8217;94.</p><p>She&#8217;s My Machine was originally demoed in &#8217;91 with Bob Ezrin<br

What are you compiling the info for?</p><p>I&#8217;m pretty sure Rudy was also guitar tech on DLR&#8217;s 1994 tour as well. I remember DLR introducing him at one point during a show: &#8220;Ladies and gentleman, Rudy Leiren. Works for me, works for Ed Van Halen &#8211; both for 20 f*cking years&#8221;<br

He left the tour because he was sick as a dog. At least that&#8217;s what he told me when Dave &amp; I interviewed him for our podcast recently.<br
