I do NOT mean this in a negative way … but my gut tells me that this was not Ed’s idea … and had someone (read: Janie) not come up with the idea, it would never have occurred to Ed to do it. While he genuinely is a good-hearted, kind person and very happily went along with this – I think Ed lives too deeply inside his own world to come up with an idea like this.

Looks like someone in Ed’s camp had an idea for some cheap publicity. Wow a rich rock star donates AN AMPLIFIER and some accessories. Big deal.
