Dutchie: That may of been true for a while but then they released ADKOT and with that cd and the live shows, there isn’t too much difference at all (in back ground vocals) . In fact, IMO, they sound better live because there are no longer those high pitch screams that Mike always did. I hated them with a passion…

If that is a serious statement – you’re the first person I’ve ever heard say anything bad about Mike’s vocals. There’s nothing wrong with that, of course. I’m just surprised to hear it.

I completely agree, VH is better without mike. I couldn’t stand those high pitch squeals either. Wolf is a better fit all the way around.

There’s a difference between vocals & squeals/screaming. Sometimes it works, sometimes not.

When you turn on your stereo, does it return the favor?

I used to have this girlfriend … and … like you say, there definitely is a difference between vocals & squeals/screaming. And indeed, sometimes it works … and sometimes not.

I remember that, you released that audio tape a few years back…

When Ed and Mike sing in harmony with each other, it’s awesome, but like I said, I just hated those high pitched screams. Have since day one.

That’s nothing against Mike though… If it was Ed doing it, I’d still hate it the same…

It usually begins with one & ends with the other.

I can’t figure out how to play or download the alternate instrumental versions listed here on Atlas Music Group’s website.

I signed up for Spotify but when I add tracks to my playlist they don’t show up there. Can’t play them on the site’s music player either even though my Spotify is in Synch with my FB, and Google Email, it says have to be logged in to play, but can’t find the section to register on the sight.

Was hoping to download or at least listen to the alternate instrumentals.

Also- The 3 ( new at the time ) 2004 tunes list 2 alternative instrumental versions, one is listed as ” without vocorder”, and wonder what that is.

Here’s the link. ( Scroll all the way down and you’ll see the alternate instrumental versions listed. )

I am able to save these using Firefox with Flashgot plugin. They’re 160k mp3s. I wonder how hard it is to get an account going, and if you’re able to download lossless versions with an account?

So I am listening right now, lots of cool instrumental versions…..I WANT THEM ALL!!! But I don’t understand how this works. Getting an account? Don’t see how this whole thing works. Loving the tunes and all but frustrated that I can’t listen to them when I want – how I want!

I wondered the same when I found them…but they’ve been there at least 2 years. Probably ever since they signed that new publishing deal.
but still it is curious why those certain songs are available as instrumentals at all. And none of the previous era.
