I’d guess it’s much easier to obtain hi res images of the replicas than the original which is supposedly under Wolf’s bed. Most people can’t tell the difference anyway.

steecoe: How do you identify the replicas from the original?

The biggest thing to me is that you can see through the red paint more on the original vs. the replicas. When you see hi res pics of the replicas, many of them look like they used an ice pick or something to scratch the body to relic them, rather than looking like actual wear. Also, with higher res pictures, many of the replicas don’t have real quarters on them either. Some do, some don’t. Those are just a few of the things I notice.

You can also point to BB Kings Lucille, Stevie Ray Vaughans SRV Stratocaster or Willie Nelsons Trigger , Jimmy Pages double neck or Eric Claptons Crash or if you stretch it to Basses Paul McCartney Hofner

My understanding was they went to a casinos and then to coin collectors to by the proper 1971 quarters
