Alright – let’s start taking bets for the 2015 version of the story Dave tells during the intro to Ice Cream Man.

As I’m sure all of you recall – in 2007/8 it was the story about sitting around in Kenny’s basement rolling joints on the Dark Side of the Moon album cover. In 2012 it was all about Dave’s dogs.

So what’s it going to be in 2015?

I’ll be first and say it’s going to be something about Japan. That’s a little too broad, so I’ll say it will be about getting tattoos there.

Of course, I’d much rather have Stay Frosty in ICM’s place.

I think it would be cool if he told a story about the early days of Van Halen with some accompanying video of early performances. But you’re probably right, it will be about Japan.

I’m going with he’s going to get retrospective and talk about the summers and memories..

Dave is going to reminisce about the good times he had with Sammy and Mike back in 2002 when they toured together …

Ok, it will be an elaborate story about an encounter with Bill Gazzari with a funny punch line ending.

I say he recycles an intro that he’s used before, he likes to pull stuff out of the filing cabinet. Maybe one he told in the late 80′s or early 90′s (which was recycled from the 70′s)

It is Dave’s solo spot so I say he’s gonna talk about his time in Japan specifically his martial arts training.

I can see it now … Dave grabs the guitar by the head stock and slicing away at the air likes it’s one of his kendo swords. Or … he uses the mic stand and does the same thing.
