id='q-31241'><p>A buddy of mine was looking at a new BluRay burner, and I looked at the specs and saw something I hadn&#8217;t heard of.  M-Disc.</p><p>After looking into it, it looks like a new disc technology that claims it&#8217;s more permanent than traditional recorded discs.</p><p><a

id='q-31248'><p>Interesting, I hadn&#8217;t heard of it. But what if I want to burn/engrave in stone something larger than 4.7 GB? Are dual-layer stone discs next? I just know as soon as I invest in HD-DVD M-DISCS, they&#8217;ll become obsolete with arrival of blue stone discs. Do they make M-DISC RWs, so I can test before I make a $3 stone coaster? People doing B&amp;P trades with these will be spending a fortune on postage!</p><p>Sorry, I&#8217;m being facetious, but the whole idea of a stone DVD just strikes me as a little bit ridiculous!<br
