Van Halen Announced!
Wed, May 8th 2013
PASO ROBLES (CA) – The California Mid-State Fair, as part of the Budweiser Concert Series, is pleased to announce that Van Halen has been booked for the 2013 Fair. The show will take place at 7:30p on Wednesday, July 24, 2013, in the Chumash Grandstand Arena.

Ticket prices for the show are $50, $85, $110 and $180 and will go on sale Friday, May 17 at 10:00a. Tickets will be available at the California Mid-State Fair box office (2198 Riverside Avenue in Paso Robles), any ValliTix location, online at http://www.midstatefair.com or by calling 1-800-909-FAIR.

Van Halen has sold over 75 million albums worldwide and has charted the most #1 hits in the history of Billboard’s Mainstream Rock Chart. The legendary rock band is known for their songs “Jump”, “Ain’t Talking ‘Bout Love”, “Panama” and “Runnin’ With The Devil”.

Recently reunited with original front man David Lee Roth, the band consists of Roth, Eddie Van Halen, Alex Van Halen and Wolfgang Van Halen. The concert at the Fair will mark the band’s only California appearance this summer.

The 2013 California Mid-State Fair runs July 17, 2013, through July 28, 2013. This year’s theme is “Start Spreading The News!”

I live in San Diego,I can most likely make a Wensday.Its harder for me to take off weekends within my Industry that time of year so this is cool.This is going to be a full two hour show for those prices?

WTF? it’s in the middle of nowhere, basically. On a friggin Weds. with a bunch of losers + has-beens to share the stage with. I mean, this ain’t no US Festival.

Seems like a bonehead move to me. So many better gigs/venues this summer…

It looks like the other nights that are booked have twin bills, so it seems likely that VH would play a longer set since they have no opener. I also see Piano Madness and Jeremy Camp are playing on other stages that night, so should be an evening of fine musical entertainment!

I think anything that gets Van Halen on stage in front of an audience anywhere is a great move. If the promoters think having them will generate interest/revenue, more power to them. Why knock them for playing?
