So according to Melodicrock, the band could release a new record in the first quarter of 2013, before going on tour again.

We already knew from a Guitar World interview that they did record some extra material during the ADKOT studio sessions, most of them being more poppy-sounding.
Ed also stated earlier this year, that we could expect “something special” for the new year…

I say bullshit. It’s very unlikely to go from a 13-year span between albums down to one year, especially considering there’s been a tour with no new material played live, Dave’s been in Japan for the last few months, and Wolfgang is on the road with Tremonti. And obviously Ed’s recent health issues are a factor too.

That would be cool, maybe live with a few new tracks, doubtful but would be cool

Even a broken clock is correct twice a day.. melodiCROCK can suck it.

I didn’t get that the ADKOT left-overs were poppy, did Ed specifically mention that?

Resident dickhead. I will hurt your delicate feelings.

This was mentioned in the August 2012 Guitar World interview, where he said that they recorded 35 demos for the album, all of them being ready to go. Then John Shanks and Wolfie picked the songs for ADKOT.

That being said, Jeff refuted this rumor at VHLinks, saying that they could tour again in 2013, but no way they’ll make a new album. Eddie is still recovering, and isn’t supposed to even lift a guitar.

“Hey guys, Eddie here. Thank you for the overwhelming support and all of your cool comments! Hanging out, taking it easy and feeling better every day. Can’t wait to see you all in 2013!

I’ve been biting my tongue ever since I saw this thread.

I don’t want to be the bearer of bad news, but more so, I don’t want to say nothing and watch many good people get their hopes up for something that’s not happening.

The band does not have any finished songs in the can. The “30 recorded songs” that we’ve heard about are DEMOS that have never had vocals. And even though Eddie’s been out in public a few times lately, he is very much still recovering. He is not even supposed to lift anything heavy, including a guitar.

Sure, hopefully we’ll get new music or even another album someday. Who knows? But it won’t be next year. The new album came out just nine months ago.

This “news” should never have been put out … even just as a “rumor.” Irresponsible.

The near future is unknown. With the “See you all in 2013″ quote, Eddie definitely implied touring next year, or at least implied doing SOMETHING next year. They could do some make up shows, or they could even do a whole tour if they want to. Or take a year off. I think a tour is definitely POSSIBLE, but it’s certainly not guaranteed, either. And the band is in a great place right now…happy, and Ed’s getting better. Dave is in Japan (again) filling his bucket. So the future could be bright… just no new music released as soon as 2013. That’s all the news that there is right now.

A freind of mine works with someone who had the same thing happen to them that happened to Eddie. That person was off work six months and still feels weak even though they are back to work. I’m with Wes I see V/H taking a year off. By that I mean a year off from touring. Now once he is up to it I could see Eddie writing some new tunes for something in 2014 but not next year.

Not the start of 2013 as Tremonti are supposed to touring Europe again in February with Wolfgang so that put’s the first few months out for sure.
