Just received a request from NYCBC to do a cover for a 2 disc DVD for the Boston show…I’m waiting to see if they filmed it…bought it from TripKore…or what?!?!?

im under the impression they filmed it…got a email from them sayin its now avalible and sound and vidio are awesome and upclose…was there and really want to get the 2 dvd pkg…

They don’t give me nothin’ for free! If they did…there’d be no need to ask for contributions

So they’re asking you to make a cover, for free, for a show they’re going to sell? If you do it, make sure to put a huge NOT FOR SALE/FOR TRADE ONLY watermark across it on all sides.

Damn, you think they would give you a free DVD if you make covers for them. Anyway, keep us updated on whether they actually filmed the show.

It would piss ME off if I got an offer to create free artwork for something that is to be sold. Who knows, this whole NYCBC thing could piss the band off and make them rethink their open video policy, if they know videos are being distributed for profit.

If NYCBC gets pissed off, so what? While they might shoot some decent stuff, it’s not like theirs is the only footage out there for all of these current shows. There’s plenty of other sources out there to be had for free.

I’m sure there are other good sources out there that won’t need to be bought. This is a trading community full of people here that SHARE music, not sell it. (Especially VH’s music) Personally I’d rather suck it up and wait a year to see the video of the shows I attended then pay someone other then VH for their music…just my 2cents. Shit..the audio FLAC is already out there for most of these shows..that’ll get me by for a while..

Its a “Love/Hate” relationship with them.
They do good work, but need to instill help from all sorts of connections who Film and create artwork, to complete their DVD Titles.
They have been at it a long time and make no Bones that they sell and leave a BIG “Electronic Tail”.
Frankly, I would’nt want to be associated to them, wether it be Artwork or my Video,
because as “Brazin” as they are, its only gonna be a matter of time, before they get Busted, and Computers confiscated.
With all their purchases, contacts ect.

Like this guy in Montreal got busted.he owned like a music store but only with misc. stuff,picture disc,L.P boots,books,poster in all size,everything you could imagine and it was awesome.That’s were i went to bought lot’s of V.H stuff.I would ask for a V.H book and he would say go overthere in that corner and check in that box.I mean everything was not your regular music store with section,you’d have to dig to find.Anyway it was huge and on 3 floor,that;s where i bought the U.S fest for the first time.I asked for any Van Halen video and he showed me everything he had(a lot) and he point out a few ones and put out the us fest and play it for me,i was amazed.it was 20$ so i took it+montreal 84 and went home,i was in heaven.after a few years he got busted by the RCMP and lost everything.it was in my early twenties.
