Hard core fans can be some of the harshest critics of all. That’s why the generally high marks they are giving the shows they have attended are very encouraging to me.

Which explains sluggish sales, falling ticket prices at smaller venues. Van Halen really isn’t a “relevant” band in today’s music scene. They rely on their diehard fan base to make this stuff happen. They can still put 6,000-7,500 butts in the seats and then have to discount the remaining 2-3,000 or so seats, not to mention the lawn tickets when available. The top dollar, front row VIPs seemed to have sold well. The lower packages did OK, but certainly aren’t selling out in every market. I’m hoping some of those $750 packages in Detroit are released the day of the show, so I can upgrade my seat.
mjk2112: i just got the ok from the dude who tape 2/3 full and i have found missing pieces on the tube and i have also just asked the guy who recorded it (audio only) if i can use for a full show?? unless someone else has done this already?
Please put this show together! One of the greatest VH shows I have ever seen! The venue had a lot to do with that. LOL!

it’s done for the most part..sharing it now via google drive with the video taper.. he has offered his 4k video for a real blue-ray release but i wanted to give a little more time to see if a few missing parts show up, namely Panama!
jroundy: I would fall into this category. From all the YouTube videos and audio bootlegs, Dave’s voice is just getting worse.I wish it weren’t true, but the audio and video just doesn’t lie.
I’m a very critical fan of DLR. But we do need to put heavy weight that he is 60 year old man now. That said.. .there are flashes of great performances. It’s not a vocal issue to me, it’s problem in his head << going for some high notes that he thinks sound good and were never really there on record or in the past. We know when he stays low and truer to the original he sounds fine. Breakdown in ATBL is almost always impressive vocally.

shhhhhh… here is the show unlisted… please keep it low and here only? it is missing the video at the end In a Simple Rhyme and then i patched in what i could find via the tube..missing video for panama as well so i patched in a few photos on rotation… then i did a little bit to the audio to bring up the low end a bit…
Not that it’s a big deal, but it’s too bad the speakers are covered in plastic. Looks kinda tacky compared to the glorious natural setting of Red Rocks. Just the screen cap on your YouTube looks funny with all the plastic in back.
