ron: So, for those that got the Deluxe Box, what are your thoughts?

Anyone?

For those who were waiting for a better deal on the vinyl’s, I see that Amazon has dropped the $120 price to ~$85 on the Deluxe set now. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00T38HH3S/

I just tossed them both in back to back on a couple songs in the car as I was driving. The new remasters aren’t quite as loud and see, to have a bit more lows and highs. The original remasters are mixed a little “warmer” to my ears, but also a little louder. I like them both, but I thought the new remasters were slightly clearer and more dynamic than the original remasters. I’ll try listening to them again back to back tomorrow and see if I hear the same thing.

A comparison of “Ain’t Talkin Bout Love” from both remasters. I don’t know if this means anything, but…

The other 4 titles (II, WACF, DD, FW) are scheduled for release on CD on June 24th in Japan. (I haven’t seen a USA release date yet)

I’m still rocking the original CD’s, I guess I should upgrade at some point.

The other 4 DLR era remasters are now set for release in the US on July 10th. CDs are ~$12 and Vinyls are ~25. No word yet on special packaging.

Thanks for the update Ron. Between VH, the last batch of Zeppelin remasters and the Sly & The Family Stone box set, July is going to be killing my wallet!

EDIT: I noticed Amazon has all of the LPs listed for July 10 except for Diver Down.

I didn’t click through each of the listings. What date is DD scheduled for?

Amazon doesn’t have a listing for remastered DD, only for old versions. Soundstage Direct has Diver Down remastered up for pre-order, but no release date:

I think I found the DD stuff on Amazon ?

With all the different versions, it’s confusing…and I’m not sure the links above are correct. Your SoundStage link looks good!
