I’ll post some more later.

When you turn on your stereo, does it return the favor?

I saw this tour in LA on the 1st leg. I was on the left side of the stage, about 15 seats away from the wall. One of the best, if not the best, shows I have been to. Hope u had a great time Mojo.

I watched plenty of bootlegs and went to one of the anaheim shows first leg got a ticket off someone by the box office for 180 for 14th row.It was a great show.I did not go though when he came back this year.Too many concerts coming this summer I have not seen to pay that kind of money for a repeat performance of the exact same thing and I was working.

But if you have not seen it I would say its a must see if you were a big fan of the wall.

Pardon my ignorance, and of not being a fan of Pink Floyd, but was Roger Waters the main person behind Floyd’s sucess? After The Wall, why did the band break up? The popularity of that album was incredible.

==== but was Roger Waters the main person behind Floyd’s sucess? ====
Mark,
This is simply my opinion.
But I believe that, initially it would Sid B. that was the main person behind the band and their early success.
Then I think there’s a pretty good stretch of great colaborations(sp) between Waters & Gilmour being equals or perhaps sharing or alternating their direction
–I could be wrong, but I think “Dark Side” might be a perfect blend of the entire band….including engineer Alan Parsons.
But on other albums I think you have “Gilmour Songs” and “Waters Songs” (again this is just my opinion…I’ve never read a book about them or anything like that)
The Wall would be pure Waters.
The Final Cut would be pure Waters.
And I think the band broke up because of those 2 albums in a row that were “pure Waters”….at least that the folklore that I recall hearing back then….

The early influence was Sid B. More of the pysadelic sound at the time. After his passing, Roger began a major roll in the band which led to disagreements, fighting etc. Eventually Roger and David could no longer be in the same room and Roger left the band. There was even a huge lawsuit about David and other members touring under name Pink Floyd. Finally they came back together for the Live 8 concert per the personal request of the producer of the show (i forget his name) but it was the guy who played the main roll Pink in The Wall.

Mystic Eye & O.U./Gainesville Green are often helpful….not that I really recommend that….just saying…..

…those were poor attempts at humor that date me back to the 70′s and 80′s….
Perhaps I should have said HeadPhones are often helpful to get into the mood of the music

I still use the bulky headphones as opposed to the ear buds they have these days, plus I still turn it up to 10 when listening. There was nothing better than getting a new album and plugging in the phones and reading the lyrics as you listened.
