id='q-1106'>
I was on blabber mouth and saw this, they say the diehard fans say Tattoo sounds like down in flames reworked, i just listened to the demo voodoo queen and heard 2 songs that came out in the 80s,now i may be wrong ,i’m sure you guys have heard it,any way here is the quote
( When Rolling Stone spoke with former VAN HALEN singer Sammy Hagar in November, he told the magazine that he heard the bands’s new record was largely comprised of old music. “I mean stuff from before I even joined the band,” Hagar said.) my point is who cares ,even if you like hagar in the band you still love the old stuff,as long as i get a new album i’m happy.

One of the things I always wanted for them to record was old demos, so I am happy to be thrown a bone on that one! Van Halen has ALWAYS used pieces of old songs. Top of the World was the outro of Jump..Take Me Back was part of an old song, as was Hang ‘em High…So thats a thing that makes me happy right there…I think Wolf being in Van Halen is an improvement on a band that was awesome to beging with, I absolutely dig what he brings to VH & I am happy about that too…..

I’m on the fence honestly…for me, the less I’ve heard before the better. I do really like Tattoo so I’m good that musically it’s DiF, and I noticed there’s two other demo songs on the album, but I hope it stops there. At this point, I will totally take what I can get of course…I’m so starved for new VH I’ll be good with whatever I can get…

I think another way of looking at this is that Van Halen are picking up where they left off when Dave departed. We could be listening to something close to what they would have released musically after 1984. Of course lyrically it may be different, don’t recall too many “tramp stamps” in 1984.<br

That’s why I’m waiting for the entire record.

I don’t care if Voodoo Queen, Bullethead and whatever the hell were recorded in 1976, or played live in 1974. I just wanna listen to the new record, then I’ll express my opinion.

I understand, Sammy is really mad about the current Van Halen situation… do you remember when he said “they won’t make any record…” and bla bla bla…

well… I’m sorry.

I don’t care what Sammy or Rolling Stone or all the other bunch of asses say… these guys were born to criticize Van Halen no matter what.

Now, let the music speak !

And by the way… it seems that the new record is gonna be a kick ass record… let’s wait, hear…and see…

VAN HALEN ROCKS !<br
