So back in 1984 one of my favorite albums was Ratt’s Out of the Cellar. Pretty strong album from start to finish, but I really liked (and have continued to like) Round and Round. I can’t begin to guess how many times I’ve heard the song, but if I conservatively estimate 50 times a year that’s 1600 listens. It’s probably more than twice that, but whatever. Regardless, it’s one of my all time favorite 80′s hair songs.

So this WHOLE time I’ve thought the lyrics were, “Tied to our belts a piece of silk. Get in our way, we’ll put you on your shelf.” I never questioned it – just assumed it was some sort of street gang reference in that they wore some silk color on their belts to look tough. Today, when it came on during my mix, I wondered why they rhymed “silk” with “shelf” and looked up the lyrics…. and I find out the actual lyrics are “Tightened our belts, abused ourselves.” My world has been turned upside down.

Add that to the fact that I just looked up the “hott” chick from the Nutrisystem TV ad only to find out it was Marie Osmond, I don’t know who I am anymore…

LOL Too funny! I used to watch the Donny and Marie show. I know I liked her in the 70′s.

I can’t say I’ve ever jerked off while fantasizing about Marie Osmond … but she is a nice looking older woman (might be a different story if I ever saw her naked though…).
