yeah it gets soooooo old to keep hearing this from Sam. As much as I love the Sammy era….man, “enough already” Sam. Stop talking about it in your interviews. If anything is ever gonna happen, its gonna happen and if not…. it wont. Why do people keep asking him about this stuff?
I loved the early Dave years, I loved the Sammy years, hell I even dug the 04 tour (although it was not my favorite tour for obvious reasons) seeing Sammy again but when he keeps talking about this its so “souring” that it makes him annoying sometimes.
Comon Dave… get the boys going again and put out another album and tour. Oh yeah, break out the Kramer 5150 and Charvel Star this time too along with the Shark guitar.
I dont want to start a debate but damn it would be great to hear Ed rip into some stuff like, “dont tell me, Seventh seal, good enough, 5150, AFU” these days on that Stealth guitar with his playing back where is should be again. I’d die if I heard a setlist like the last 2 tours along with a few sam gems like I just mentioned. Wishful thinking? absolutely but it’d be nice to pull a few of them out of the closet again though. Even if it was just an instrumental here and there it’d be good.

Daves right, but like I always say I want a tour with BOTH Sam and Dave. Be HUGE!!

Everyone should let the Sammy era stuff go, including Sammy. I don’t think Ed, Al or Wolf are all that interested in digging into that catalog either or else they would find a way to do so and you’ll NEVER in a gazillion years hear Dave singing a Hagar era song. The only way I could even imagine it is if they had demos of some of songs released during the Hagar era that Dave had demoed lyrics to before Sam joined. Maybe they could do something along those lines, but I highly doubt they would do that.

Sammy understands how Eddie can make the difference in terms of music…and guitar playing…(especially when he’s sober) way above Satch or anyone else…

I only hope to hear a new record from Van Halen soon…

ADKOT was just a new beginning for the band… let’s see if 2014… VH will release something new…

Yeah I would but I would ask about the 5150 / OU812 era and the tours etc. Ed and the 04 tour would not be one of them.
