/> Here is an example of a show or tour I did not think would happen after 2024.
Sammy repeatedly stated that he did not want to tour anymore and would stick
to playing residencies or one offs, so I was quite surprised to see a brief
8 city, 9 show run planned for June. He also announced a short 5 show run in
the UK taking place in early July. So, I was pleasantly surprised to see him
announce a show in Ohio on the current trek. Comparing this tour to the tour
in 2024, the setlist has become a bit more truncated and some deeper cuts that
weren’t going over well with the audience were removed. The show was cut by
roughly 30 minutes, but you cannot complain with 1 hour and 45 minutes. He
added a few new songs to the mix, most notably “Love Walks In”, as well as
“Cabo Wabo”, “Bad Motor Scooter” & the recent 2025 single, “Encore, Thank You,
Goodnight.” to close things out. I opted for seats in section 23, which were
just about halfway back in the pavilion to save some money (seriously, the
rows in front of me were $60 more and the sections below twice as much!), so
the sound is not as direct and loud as I would have liked, but it does give
you a good overall feel of what it sounded like in there. It was plenty loud,
thankfully. During “Good Enough”, Rick Springfield came out to the stage with
a birthday cake for Michael Anthony and the crowd sang “Happy Birthday” to
him in unison. They then launched back into “Good Enough”. Pretty cool moment!
No EQ was performed, the wave file was balanced and normalized before tracking.
Thanks to the gentlemen in my row for being quiet as mice after they saw me
setting up before Sammy came out! Its true – not all heroes wear capes.
Sammy Hagar.
Michael Anthony.
Joe Satriani.
Kenny Aronoff.
Nathan Mercado.
Rick Springfield & Dauvet St. Marie opened. [both not recorded].<br
