Always like Steve’s playing and know he is a big EVH fan…
I’m seeing Billy Idol in March and I’m keen to see Steve live..

EDDIE’S fingers aren’t fingers they are muscle-powered pistons that hammer guitar strings to the fretboard with the force of a rivet gun”.

Yeah- He’s great has a very unique style covers a lot of territory has a lot of depth in his playing. He’s terrific at creating a certain mood been a fan since I heard Rebal Yell way back when. Cool you’ll get to see him soon. I’ve never seen them live before but been following his FB page recently there’s a fair amount of hype and promotion for the new album Billys done several TV interviews already I’m going to get his book and album soon. They’ll probably play here too then I’ll go see them.

If I’m not mistaken, I believe Eddie actually gave him a guitar back when Steve opened up for him with Vince Neil. Not sure which guitar it was but do recall reading they hung out quite a bit on that tour. The Vince Neil album at the time Steve played on ” Exposed ” was really good I thought. Lots of killer shredding. One of the highlights being ” Sister Of Pain “.

Also interesting to note and remember he was DLR’ s first choice for guitarist in ’86i. I think there was a contractual conflict that disabled his involvement at the time not sure but of course Billy Sheehan suggested Steve Vai so that worked out well.

Funny comment about his hair  He’s still got that LA Rock n Roll look to him.

Kind of sparse though … couldn’t hold a candle to the bear rug DLR used to sport on his chest.

Oh wait … did you mean his chest or his head?

That’s a EBMM Axis Pete. The guitar the EVH EBMM turned into after Eddie left them. I’ve seen or maybe have footage of Steve playing a Black EVH EBMM. He used to used the old EVH 5150 strings too.
