Sam claims Eddie and Alex are trying to legally stop him from performing the Hagar era tunes. He said for Live at Daryl’s House they wanted to do a couple VH tunes but The Van Halens issues a cease order to them.

LOL! It’s so strange to me that VH would issue a cease and disist for Hagar playing those tunes. I’ll be interested in hearing how that pans out.

I just went and checked out the samples from the Circle’s live CD. “Right Now” sounded OK (but the sample didn’t get to the guitar solo) and I liked the acoustic version of “Dreams”. Other than that, I didn’t care for the other Van Halen songs. Not taking anything away from Jason at all. He’s a great drummer, but I don’t think those songs sounded better or had “more energy” vs. the original ’93 versions. They SHOULD have sounded more energetic, since the ’93 release was, as we all know and Sam admitted, rerecorded in the studio, so the spontaneity and energy was lost. I thought the songs sounded slow and plodding, but, to steal a line from Dennis Miller, “That’s just my opinion. I could be wrong.”
