If you’ve ever wondered what would happen if a Van Halen song got a jazzy makeover, we’ve got you covered.

Harrisburg artist Erica Lyn Everest took on Van Halen’s “Jamie’s Cryin’” ahead of the band’s show at Hershey this weekend.

Everest said she decided to take on this song because she believed it was one of the Van Halen songs that was in her comfort zone lyrically and sonically.

“Van Halen’s kind of not our style and we thought it’d be cool to cover something totally different and make it our own,” she said.

“Jamie’s Cryin,’” a song about a woman resisting a one night stand, is featured on Van Halen’s 1978 self-titled debut album.

Everest said she and her bandmates play shows nearly every weekend. Fans can keep up with her show schedule on her Facebook.

Jazzy VH ” Runnin”version has a great video to go along with it. I vote for this Jazzy RWTD………Jazzy “Jamie” is just not for me.

I liked the jazzy version of Panama they played at the soundcheck in London, Ontario. Too bad the guy recording it was talking over everything so loudly. That would have been a cool recording to have.

I agree, if I had to choose it would be RWTD. That chick singing Jamie’s Cryin’ sounds like Peppermint Patty.
